To be quite honest, although it's not the same thing, the Reverend bass contour knob does what many want a coil split or tap to do, but without all the annoyances that come along with it. I think it's a more effective way to clean up the sound, and it has a much greater range. I also like parallel switches, but that's definitely a more 'out there' tone. More review after recording with the EGC again last night- I've never had a guitar that I've been so easily able to pull a harmonic out of. Did a pluck harmonic on the 12 fret of the D string and just let it ring out for part of the riff I was recording, and each and every time it was effortless.

The T-40 is an exception to this. I have come to love the single coil sound.
