Don't you French people only work like 3 days a week?

Just rewired my pedalboard, looks wayyyyyyy nicer and it's more functional. After much trial and error, managed to fit three more pedals on there that I originally had set up beside the board.
Beyond that, it's the FUCKING WEEKEND in T-Minus 4 hours.
Going to grab a case of beer, BBQ, jam some tunes and get laid. Booya!

Since you asked for it... French fun fact #187: did you know that French workers in the automative industry have a lower cost per unit produced than their German or American counterparts, despite working 35 hours a week and not 40 or more. In fact, French workers hold a record of productivity gains in many industries. I guess that's why GE recently bought out Alstom... Something I'll never forgive my government for letting happen. And it's a stupid move, Alstom has a lot of contracts wether it's trains or tramways or offshore windmill installations in Latin America. What do you think will happen when they'll realize they wanted Alstom because it was good stuff (you basically have to go with Alstom if you want a decent offshore windmill park anyway) AND not the gringo's or the gringo's friends (Siemens)...

Re: the happiness, excitement, and general contentedness thr
Yesterday afternoon was my girlfriend's first day off in a week and it was great to get to spend some time with her. I was having anxiety problems early in the afternoon. Basically, a big part of my Borderline Personality Disorder is that I need to feel confident. If my confidence waivers, I get really passive and weak. She was patient with me as I struggled to find my rhythm and we ended up having a really fun evening. Her patience and understanding is exactly why we are together. She was off most of today, too, and it was great. I even crossed the hurdle of meeting her mother, who shockingly likes me. (I had been nervous about meeting her parents because of our age difference. It was mostly painless with her father, too.)

Got the place for myself until the middle of next week (I live with my parents temporarily, and they're in Paris), which as usual means I drink beer all day, watch weird movies, play guitar loud as fuck, and listen to Acid Mothers Temple/Camel/Gong/Floyd/Gentle Giant/whatever. I love me.

Chillin in Brooklyn, getting ready to see Hilltop Hoods (I know they get a bad rap in aussie, but I dig em). Enjoying this empty cafe with the sun trickling in.
Oh and I went to the Dream House early. Pretty cool.

Bagged another show! That makes two in one month. And another friend wants to play one mid-November.

Had an amazing birthday show on Friday. We completely blew the crowd and the main act away. Sweet ass gig! And I got to really appreciate being a support act. It was lots of fun to concentrate on mere 30 minutes and to make the utmost out of that time.
Also I have bought tickets to and booked a place to sleep for the Le Guess Who festival.

My daughter grabbed our copy of "The Dictionary of Science" off the shelf to read for her bedtime story tonight. Her and her brother danced all the way into the bedroom singing "SCIENCE! SCIENCE!"
I read to them about atoms and thermodynamics.
