Thats because of the depth control more than anything else. A real Hiwatt doesn't sound that bassy and isn't nearly as gainy as the Mother. The one very 'Hiwatt' attribute is the brightness of the Mother. The Hiwatt EQ is very distinctive in that respect.

these seem to be fairly scarce so i couldn't come up with too much info but its an early 70s Yamaha YTA-95 closed back 90w solid state 2x12 combo.
it kinda sounds like if you took a JC120 and swapped out the chorus and distortion for tremolo and 'WAW WAW', but maybe a little brighter and more dynamic? fucking RAD. the verb and trem sound insanely good.
i got it from the original owner who doesn't even play guitar and it's been sitting under the cover most of it's life... the pots definitely need cleaning but it's 100% functional and really quiet otherwise.
and it was crazy cheap, i am stoked on this.

Really Cool pic !! and nice description too :joy:
Blue Strat - Jazzmascis - Tele.
Fender - Squier.
Dr. Scientist - Dirge - FuzzHugger - Montreal Assembly - Hypnodrone.

I finally got a decent small amp at home. This was an old Italian Caldironi-Meazzi 2x12" Combo, solid state, that had been sitting in a garage for years. I rescued it from being thrown away, took out the humming, crackling and badly coughing amp, put in a Peavey Classic 60W tube power amp (fits nicely) and have a little tube preamp on top of it to get things going.
Sounds great!

I like how everything is strategically placed so that you're in something's kill-zone at any point in the room.

I run my ac30 through a fender tonemaster 2x12, it has kickback legs so I figured why NOT add the rest of the piggyback hardware? I couldn't come up with a good answer, so....

Definitely sounds much different when tilted back, and it was a pretty easy job once I got the proper hardware.

AC30's are my favorite thing ever I just have no need or means to crank one.... :/

Unfortunately it is how they work best, mine is dust collecting in the basement until we move in January.
