Excellent, even with delay and reverb.

I can't understand why anyone would ever stop playing music.

So sorry to hear you are at some point where you feel you must just throw it all out the door.

I got burnt out and bummed out when my old band fell apart years ago. I actually quit playing guitar for a year. It was the most miserable year I ever had. I was depressed and mad all the time. I didn't have that release from playing music to keep me sane. I still get fed up with other members being turds and whatnot sometimes but I still play at home for myself. I might get to a point where I won't be actively gigging or jamming with other people one day, but I'll always keep making music by myself. I can't NOT be without that.

Yeah I get really unmotivated when I'm not in a jamming situation. To the point where I'm just not even remotely interested in dicking around by myself at home sometimes.
Which has been the case since my daughter was born and it has made me an asshole since.
If it hadn't been for this place I would have packed it in.
So I know those feels assface j, but hold tight man.

I had a jam with my brother last week though, which was hilarious as we were both tired as shit, rusty as all fuck (he hasn't picked up sticks or touched his kit in 2+ years) and on top of my amp constantly popping and fucking out, his kit was bit by bit falling apart. We had a great time though and on the 4-5 riffs of the night that didn't suck and we actually got locked in it sounded pretty good, considering.
So that's made me hopeful again and kinda lit the fire out of the old coals, somewhat.

What I'm trying to say is, good things happen.
If you need to purge, do it, but keep your shit you want to be buried with.
You won't regret it in 12-18 months.
And this:

Edit: And holy fuck conky that guit looks badass. :thumb:  :animal:

Nice Conky. I have been thinking of putting a black winter in the bridge of my telemaster to replace the gfs p90 I have in there. I have been kinda wanting something new in there and have been eying the black winters. I just need it to play nice with the tele style neck I have in there, but I may switch that for the quarter pound tele neck which should hopefully stand up with the black winter.

That being said I have also been thinking of building a 2 channel head so I can better set up for clean and dirty tones. I got one of those disaster area midi controllers a while ago and it has a trs jack that I can program to switch channels on an amp so it would be nice to have that available. I have been looking at maybe a soldano slo clone build. what do you guys think of that amp? I know matt from high on fire uses one but a lot of the demos I find on you tube are kinda wanky.

I imagine a Black Winter would do well in a tele. If you put one in yours let me know how it works. I'm planning on getting another 72 deluxe reissue again and would like to esquire it up with just one pickup. Black Winter with a coil tap is what i'm thinking for that. SLO clone would rule. I've been playing my Hotrod at home a lot since I left the Matamp at the practice space. Forgot how great it sounds.

Cool, if I do end up getting it I will let you know how it works out. I might switch up one of the pots to have a switch for coil tapping. The quarter pound can be tapped as will so I might get the tapped version. I have been thinking about switching up my sound a bit and want a bit tighter sound for rhythm sounds then my logos orange/matamp style amp. I'm thinking of trying to wire up the clean/crunch switch on a relay as well so that I can have 3 types of sounds plus the pedals. Sounds like I am kinda migrating towards your type of rig conky.

right after katrina happened practically all my bands broke up or went on a hiatus that wasn't certain if we to get back together. So I kept playing and then started writing my own music to save up for recording equipment. Only thing I did that was different was take up painting again. But there was never a 'down time' or anything hell the day after the storm I went to my unit and played drums for a few hours even in the dark since there was no power.

I know folks have their reasons for doing what they do, but I would suggest ya reconsider quitting music. I didn't have it in my life for the first 6 months I lived in CO, and that was the longest I'd gone without playing music with anyone since I was 17. I drank too much, put on a good bit of weight, and was generally unhappy. Now, sure, music didn't fix that all on its own, but hollering my ass off and banging on a guitar through a couple of loud-as-fuck amps sure helped me get in a better position. Among other indicators, my blood pressure went from pre-hypertension levels in Oct of 2012 (I weighed about 210, the most I've ever weighed and NONE of it was muscle) to totally normal by Jan 2013 (20ish pounds lighter). I drank quite a bit every single day because I'd moved to a new state, didn't know anyone, was back in grad school for the first time in years, and was broke as shit.

I guess what I'm saying is, rock n roll will save your soul, as well as your heart, liver, kidneys, and probably other organs swimming around in there as well.

Yes sir.

I was born to do it, and my life quickly stops making sense without it.
