Yo, anyone who was asking about Mesa's being affordable:
viewtopic.php?f=44&t=44303&p=897208#p886261

That's the 'Celestial' amp, IIRC. Killer deal for an american made 100 watt head.
good deals are here.
flesh couch is here.

I have been listening to Celestial and The Red Sea non stop for the past week or so. Trying to study that drum sound so I can get something similar on our new jam.

Speaking as someone that works in media (and, more specifically, technical production), this is fucking gospel.

Yes, it can be fixed in post.

Yes, it will cost you ten times the normal rate.

Whenever someone asks me if we can "fix it in post", I generally let them know what a massive waste of time and money that will be. Especially if it's something that can be fixed by taking a little bit of extra time to get it right at the time...or run home to get a new snare strainer or some other sort of nonsense. Sometimes it comes up because the band isn't well rehearsed and can't play the song, not much to be done about that in the room, past a certain point. I generally still try to get them to just practice it a few times and talk it through, as they're wasting time (read: money) either way, but it will sound better if they do it right then instead of trying to make it sound passable later in editing/mixing.

Thanks. I'm stoked I found one in great shape, and not too long after deciding to search for one. Can't wait to plug it in. Might grab another 4x12 just so I can play it as a full stack.
