Custom pickguard, and all ready converted to passive with SD Nazgul / Sentient combo. :yay:

Should be fun, not as nice as Darren's cammo beast, but perfect for what I wanted.

I'm not usually much on the offset SG shape, but that's fucking snazzy.

I want a 6x12 for the reasons listed above. My Orange 412s are insanely heavy, and I don't remember my old Emperor 612 weighing much more than a 412. Plus, it had an overall sound to it that I just don't hear with two 412s or a 412/212 stack.

Also, an old dude had this on craigslist for a steal, so I jumped on it.

I've wanted a Gibson V (and an explorer, but that's a whole other thing...) for years. Four bills? Duh. I'm in.

Nice!

Some nice looking guitars in this thread.

i just bought a truck today. my old '85 nissan is dying a slow death and recently started making a noise which makes me believe it's basically undriveable until i dump a bunch of cash into it. and i drive a lot for work and depend on having a good truck. i just spent a shitload of money on a 99 tacoma, which leaves me at the eating ramen and hoping i don't break a string level of broke for the moment, but hopefully my truck woes will be behind me for a while. this is pretty much my dream truck. cosmetically imperfect, which helped keep the price low and i don't care about that shit, but it's got the bells and whistles that i care about. it's black, v6 5 speed, 4x4 with all of the factory off road options you could want plus a few aftermarket upgrades, relatively low miles. it's pretty much perfect as far as i can tell. the only problem so far is that my old canopy that i was planning to reuse is a fucking inch and a half too short for this truck. bullshit. oh well. anyway, it's no new guitar celebration, but a hell of a big deal for me. every other vehicle i've owned in my life has been from '85-87, so this is quite an upgrade. cup holders! air conditioning! what a concept!

Fuckin cheers, man. I've always driven older cars (85 Chevy Celebrity, 95 Olds Cutlass, currently with a 98 Olds 88) with a fuckton of miles that I struggle to keep up and running. If my last-ditch effort to fix the heat and defrost (the latter of which is necessary for CO), I'm going to be right there with you on a new/old vehicle. Hurts to drop that cash, but it is NICE to have a reliable ride.
KHEMMIS. Doomed heavy metal. DECEIVER out 11/19/21 on Nuclear Blast.

GLACIAL TOMB. Misanthropic death/black/sludge. S/t debut out now on Gilead Media.

it's true, they do rule just as much as a new guitar day, but tend to cost 6-10 times as much it seems (i just did the math and this was actually 17.6 times as much as my guitar. fuck). this thing's fucking awesome though. so comfortable and quiet and the engine's a beast. tons of power and pickup. i'm used to driving 40 up hills on the highway.

also, my guitar is worth more now than it was when i bought it. that shit just doesn't happen with vehicles.

Toyota is boss fucking hog.

The wife and I actually bought a second car this year because taking the dog anywhere in the two-door Solara (coup Camry, basically) was a pain in the ass. We ended up buying a 1997 Toyota Camry Wagon. It has 254k miles on it and it's a fucking champion.

If the Tacoma is half as good as the Hilux that they attempt to destroy in Top Gear then it'll probably drive for 500k miles. :!!!: :!!!: :!!!:

my lady has a 1990 toyota pickup with a 22re (same engine as the truck in top gear) and it's amazing. it has like 240k on it and runs like a champ. and gets around 27 mpg, which is incredible for a 4x4. toyota's are awesome. while i was shopping for this truck i kept seeing one's with this same engine for sale with 3-400k on them, which says something for sure. and, trucks rule for hauling dogs. it's nice having the dog up front for company when you only have one, but now that we've got three, i love keeping those fuckers in back (with a canopy and a dog bed or two). they can bark and argue and be annoying and it isn't too bad and they can't fuck the car up too bad if they're in back. my cars, when i used to have regular cars, have always been so gross because of dogs. trucks rule. plus, when you're going somewhere with a group you never have to drive when you have a truck. but your friends do often want you to help them move.

I love my 1994 Toyota 4x4. 180K miles and counting. I wouldn't mind picking up a Toyota 4Runner to better move my drums around. I don't have a canopy atm for my truck. You can find great deals on these and they run and run.

@misterstomach Congrats on the new Yota Taco! If you ever need to know anything about your Toyota, check out http://www.yotatech.com It's a great resource for all things Toyota. That Taco is one solid choice man. If you take care of it, it will last a long god damned time. 300K+ miles are easy. Enjoy brother!

Don't you guys have the Hilux Toyotas? Those are highly sought after here, because, you can't get them. Or it's so much a paint that it is hardly worth it.

here's a pic. it's one of the seller's pic's. i haven't taken any of my own yet as it got dark soon after i got home. i'm selling the headache rack and toolbox and putting a canopy on there. also, this pic makes it look shinier than it is. the paint is little rough, but that's probably what put it in my price range so i'm not complaining. and i don't care about a shiny truck so much as one i can afford.

my understanding is that the hilux is the exact same other than the nameplate as what was just marketed in america as the toyota pickup until 95.5 when they introduced the tacoma. it was just a model name they used some places that they didn't use in the US for whatever reason.

Toyota's are probably the best of the Japanese cars. If you want a good reliable runabout, then try get your hands on an old Carolla from the 80's. They seem to want to go forever. If you want something with a bit more power then go for an old Crown from the 70's. They still use them as taxi's in some of the Asian countries.

i've had a couple of hondas that were fucking amazing as well. i was always bummed that they didn't make a proper pickup back in the day. i had an 87 accord that i bought for $300 about about 8 years ago. i had it for 5 years and drove it all over the god damn country with no real problems to speak of and then sold it for $500. what a fucking car. but yeah, toyotas and hondas are the shit. and for trucks nothing beats a toyota. i love my old nissan, and it was really cheap for what it is, but they're just not quite there.
