http://www.theppk.com/2009/11/homemade-seitan/

This is recipe for seitan (pronounced like Satan so twice as good), also known as Wheat Meat. Follow this recipe and once the seitan cools, sautee it in oil and make some stir fry, or toss it in some blackened seasoning and put it on a flatbread with hummus and spring mix. Endless possibilities.

http://www.theppk.com/2012/01/vegan_sausage/

Vegan Italian sausage so good you won't even miss the real thing.

http://www.theppk.com/2012/10/scramble-tofu-breakfast-bahn-mi/

Scrambled tofu sandwiches. To simplify it, leave out the homemade daikon pickles. Although they are delicious. Again, flat bread - veggies - hummus, and enjoy.

It may seem like cheating, but try the tofurkey brand sausages and deli "meats." All Fucking amazing.

And tempeh is another good veggie protein. Goes great in Asian food or baked on pizza.

If you need any veg guidance, feel free to pm me.

Haha nice! But also, hemp seeds are by far the best thing ever for humans to consume.

PetZounds wrote:Dude yo I stopped eating meat a few weeks ago also and my body is all out of whack.
I have been eating non-stop since then, because I just feel hungry all the time.
I made a giant tub of hummus and consumed it in 3 days, by myself.
Trying to find a balance in your diet when you've violently upset it is really difficult.
It's definitely had me feeling whacky lately.

Try keeping a diary and see how you feel after some foods. Most of the time, the body's signal for thirst is = to hunger; so just try drinking water to purify. U need 2L to clear out the pipes xD and +0.5l for every 25kg of weight. That's just pure water/day!
Also, teas, water with mg, and almond milk  All those sexy minerals

Fuck, you guys are the best.
Thank you for all that info, Neon, I'm definitely going to make use of it.
I've mostly just been eating hummus and shitloads of soup, so having a rad place to go to look for recipes is wonderful.

I have been drinking a ton of water, as well as tea + almond milk lately.

Not eating meat has been 100% fine with me, hamburgers were my favorite thing ever but I don't really miss them.
I can definitely feel my body raging hard against the change though.

Maybe I'll move this discussion over to the cooking thread.

So many good advices and tips going on here. Going shopping for foods today so I'm definitely trying to find some of this stuff. Mostly been eating beans and chickpeas as a substitute for meat.

Took a day off teh intrawebz yesterday. Actually took a day off from most activities to focus on meditating and just being fine with being in the now/mindfulness if you will. I realized that what I seem to have been doing is constantly keeping myself busy, just switching activities, and never allowing myself to just sit still with my own thoughts (because my thoughts are often shitty ones that make me anxious). I need to allow those thoughts, get to know them, try to understand them and hopefully befriend them. Same thing with the physical feeling I get when a panic attack kicks in.

Thanks for all the tips and kind words. Makes ut harder to take a break from being here 24/7.

Casanova: I know how you feel about needs to know your thoughts. I've been doing it more and more lately. Sometimes it suuuuuucks because you end up dredging up shitty thoughts that make you anxious, but sometimes the more you look at them the more you realize they're either a: total nonsense, or b: they're not actually what's making you anxious. It's almost like if you stare at a word long enough it sort of loses its meaning. The same thing can be done with shitty anxious thoughts. I've learned sooo much about myself by doing this, and while I don't think the end is in sight, I feel a tiny bit better every time, and the next time I feel shitty I can deal with it just that much better.

Well. I got fired. At the worst time. Just started back to school, still in debt from Xmas. Just paid off my Bass VI.

So, expect to see some pretty decent pedals in the classifieds soon. I'm going to an old job tomorrow to see if I can get back on there, but I'll need cash in the meantime. Waiting tables means no final paycheck to look forward to.

Yeah, today has been a rollercoaster of emotion. I'm still stoked about the VI. I think I'll be able to keep a couple pedals. Mini, Meet Maude, and Ditto probably. Everything else is probably on the way out.

Luckily tax returns are in a couple months so I can probably get a pedal or two then.
