Any doom room approved humbucker sized p90's? Right now I am thinking about the Lindy Fralin p92's, because they are also hum cancelling. Also, Bareknuckle Nantuckets look pretty sexy.

I had an SG that I put GFS Mean 90's too and it was pretty much a perfect combination. I'm also a big fan of the Gibson p94(their hb sized p90). Both are quite good for bringing the ruckus.

Didn't we do the whole "Sabbath love vs. indifference" thing back on HCEF? I say 'indifference' in place of 'hate', because if you actually, actively hate Sabbath, at least the early, really kind of groundbreaking stuff- well... you may be some kind of robot or gubmint plant, put here to spy on the ways of those who like something other than a pristinely clean guitar sound. Which doesn't seem like it would return a lot of usable information to the lizard kings in control of everything, but who knows...................

I think we even had this debate on this side of the Doom Room before as well. I think it's a bit of fun, but it is somewhat of a dead horse. Sabbath were a bigger deal to me when I was into similar bands like Led Zeppelin, Cream and Metallica. But there is just so much more out there now that's more my generation.

I wouldn't have picked up the guitar if it wasn't for Zeppelin- and the Who to a lesser but still noteworthy extent. And of course SABBATH

Pretty good show, that Torche one was. One of the openers sounded a lot like Helmet, and the other was pure shoegaze. Torche played a wider variety of their song than I had expected. I'd heard from buddies that they had been playing mostly new material.

They also hid a disclaimer at the bottom saying that people who donate are not entitled to a refund should they fail. Their "minor risk" is really enormous, as they're not likely to make enough money to get Gibson to even turn its head, no matter what they're actually worth. Seems like such a waste though; they ought to be able to just market the hell out of their own brand, with lower start up costs along with their incredibly limited selection of instruments and ideologies about what a good instrument is.
Good Deal List: bearbeams, pena_55, sonidero, greyscales, ChetMagongalo, xchristophex, Monkey Boy, krautrocker, osbornkt

It was about time you came to the party with that.
I thought you'd left me hangin there.

Re: Zep.
I had a friend play a stripped down acoustic version of the rain song for our "walk in" whatever music at our wedding.
So that's where I stand.

That would've been awful.

I think most of Zep's catalog is pretty meh, but they've got some incredible riffs and arrangements and John Paul Jones is a monster.

It was just an instrumental. I really love that song but even just having that chord progression played on an acoustic was awesome.

I know how you feel about Zep.
But even if you don't dig em, they do have some great moments.

Like, I don't dig Rush, but I can see why people are nuts for em, so I can respect that.
(Rush-baiting. Have at me.)
