I used to be like that, and still need to stand in a band setting, but when your knees are shot, seated becomes more attractive when you are just fucking around solo. I also have some "Couch guitars" that really only get used outside the band room late at night or whatever. chilling on the couch and goofing around with structure ideas can be nice.

I kinda feel like a pussy for not standing up more. It's like peeing sitting down. It makes so much more sense, but I still feel a little silly doing it.

AxAxSxS wrote:the rhoads style jacksons are incredibly comfy to sit with. the shorter lower side of the V makes it pretty perfect. Neckdive city but cool guitars.

ML's get a lot of flack because of the Dimebag association, but really they are the perfect thing for seated playing, you can do the v thing and have them at just the right angle, or play it like you would a strat or lp/sg/whatever.

The Reverend V guitars are supposedly really comfy too, but without the neck dive. I kinda want a really classic Gibson V, though. The Faded model from 2013 was really classic to me. Open coil humbuckers, thin finish, good stuff.

My brother had an old Suzuki branded V from the 70s. I hated playing it sitting down or standing up. Just felt really awkward and it weighed a ton. Did sound and feel great though. Really comfortable neck.

I can understand if your knees are shot, but hell I just can't write. I write how if I would be playing it in a live situation. if I can't thrash about when playing it then I'm not feeling it and the jamz die.

My most nevershouldagottenridofit guitar was a 70s Ibanez Rocket Roll V. That thing was amazing. I love how when you play a V, it's all neck. If you find the right spot to put the strap button on the inside of the V part they balance OK.

I write when I'm walking, for the most part. When I'm fat, the songs are slower. When I'm thin they get faster. I write riffs when I'm playing guitar, though. Whether I'm sitting or standing depends on whether I'm willing to go find a strap.

Empty, The V looks awesome. I really need to refin a bass. Just haven't yet. I'd want to do something along the same lines of totally strip, stain, and replace all parts. I bet this one is killer.

YOB was awesome. That is all.

What part of town will you be in? Most everything I like is on the east side, but it's easy to get to if you're downtown. There's soooo many good beers you should drink. I don't know of any shows off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's at least ten of them. I'll look into it. I'd be down to hang and grab a beer, although I might be working most of those evenings. Feel free to get in touch. Pm or whatever. I'll be driving a cab, so at the very least I might be able to hook you up with a discount ride or two.

1) been so swamped with school the last few weeks, haven't been posting nor keeping up much. But hope everyone has been doing well!

2) mexico rules, however, I'm biased since I was born and raised there.

3) we got these in the mail today and I'm pretty stoked:

Believe me I feel ya on that. I problably look like a semi lunatic mentally impared douchebag when I'm rocking out on the shitty drum throne I have in the jam room for seating. But that's "me time" so who gives a shit. I became angered at said drum throne and threw it mid song at the start of tonight's Flux proceedings. It was in my space and that's not ok.

You're gonna have a good time. Parkers good people and Portland can be great to just wander because there is a lot of good shit, but when you can get some pointers from locals, shit can get epic. I hate to say it but Portlands winning v Wa. on the food scene, the beer scene, and it's neck and neck with music. Kinda wish I was heading down there this weekend for el ceremony of sludge. It's a good weekend to be in tacoma though.

Mexico is rad, last time I went we spent a bunch of time swimming in cenotes and exploring stuff and it was great. Way better than going to lay on the beach and drink for a week.

Saw those on instagram, but that's awesome dude! The album is great.

Saw Torche last night. Was a very good time. Lots of Meanderthal stuff. New material sounds good and heavy live. Drank whiskey and beer and played pinball.
Wrong sounded awesome, too. That's the Ex-Capsule Helmet Worship-ish band. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Nothing sounded good but the stage banter really detracted from the set. Enjoyed the music enough but one of the guys just kept saying stupid stuff and then following it up by saying things like: "that's what's up" and "you're tight." Bro-gaze personified.
