it must hey, the amount of EGC's that get flipped even around here is pretty damn high compared to the small number of people that actually order them.

i still sort of want one but the way currency/taxes/shipping have headed in the last couple of years means it would literally cost me $4000 to get just a production model  eurodudes probably have it even worse

I want an EGC bass but I'm so up in the air about pickups, bodystyles, passive/active electronics, and even dots/inlays and binding that I'm not going to get one until I find my balance. Even if that's in ten years.

Good luck, you won't have the bass for another ten after that.

So be it. If I'm going custom, I'm going full on custom.

Getting ready to order an EGC :!!!:

I think I'm going to go with a EGC500, thick neck, Aluminium body.

Has anyone got one with this basic layout. I'm mainly interested in any balance issues. I've been quoted around 8-9lb in weight, that's fine. It's the balance I'm most interested in.

Also, I have the option of the P90s of the splittable HBs. I play mainly clan and overdriven sounds through a Vibrolux Reverb. I currently play a Mustang, so are the P90s or Splitted HBS going to be closer in sound? I'm guessing splitted HBs

Thanks

EGC has updated it's ordering process. They're not taking custom orders anymore but they're offering more standard models and options.

Anyone ever order a bolt-on neck from EGC? I was quoted about 6 weeks and put my deposit down (about a month ago), but just saw that they have no more necks in stock and aren't producing anymore! :idk: Anyway, how long does it usually take to get a bolt-on neck? Maybe i'll just put the deposit towards a series two!

Ha, I just noticed that update to the FAQ too! Sounds like the timeframe could vary based on the body they are/were working with? I sent in a body to get re-done with the bolt-on neck and EGC pickups, etc. almost four years ago and haven't seen it yet. BUT I'm sure the flimsy Danelectro body I sent in was not the easiest to work with (they're plywood, right?) , so I can't really complain too hard about the delay... Either way, he said they could do it and I know they don't make no junk, so whenever it's ready it will be amazing.

6 weeks is a bonkers quote for an EGC special order, though. If your project is doable that quickly, that's awesome! :thumb:

EGC Tyranny: making one offs available on a first come first serve basis. Pretty sweet. Reminents of unfished custom orders perhaps?

So I didn't end up selling my white EGC. I sent it down to Kevin last month who rerouted the body and put single coils in it for me. I love it so much. I missed that single coil sound so bad!

It looks radical. But I'd have kept the single bridge pickup layout. It looked so clean and perfect with the single bridge humbucker.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth
