Peavey Bass 400 MKIII(running at 2 ohms). Top cab used to be an old Sunn 6x12 cab. It had a 2x15 baffle when I got it so I made a 4x12/1x15 baffle just for the fuck of it and it sounds pretty good even when loaded with old patched up CTS speakers(one is an fender branded eminence made very similar to the CTS). The plan is to paint the baffle white and re-use the black grill material it came with to make it look like the later Sunn cabs and recone the speakers with weber parts. Bottom cab is an old Sunn 2x15(wider one paired with 1200s/1500s/2000s) loaded with black widows. Original JBLs were reconed rather nicely but not the impedance I needed.

Massive but totally worth it. Both cabs are the same size. 46" x 30" x 15"(48" tall with casters) so as they stand they are as tall as a fullstack of two 4x12 plus head. I want to add a couple of Sunn 1x18 cabs(I had a lead on 2 of them but will probably have to build them myself) to the rig and another MKIII or MKIV but that might be pushing it. I'm only jamming with a drummer and if we keep it a two piece we'll only play a couple of really small local venues.

MKIII and MKIV Bass heads are really good heads when they're running well. Like any amp they need maintenance, especially the output section and power supply. Mine likes to buzz every now and then. I have to replace a few out of spec resistors and I've already done a bunch of other work to it. I like it a lot with bass but with guitar they are just monstrous! I'll do my best to grab a couple more of them when I can.

I use the power section of one of those Peavey Bass MkIV heads. So massive and clean.

Added this to the rig yesterday:

Think I'm done searching for a tube amp for a while.

Tasty!!!!! How is that valveking? I've been eyeing them a bit, and they are pretty common used hereabouts. Figured they'd make a fine distortion amp

it's an awesome amp, don't quite get their slack! there's a load of mods to be done to it, especially for it's drive channel. I'm not a big fan of it's distortion sound, but I've seen some bands make it sound good. I personally use it as a pedal platform and it performs excellently. can take a serious beating too :joy: I say snag one if you're lacking tubes and can find it for $250 or less.

Sheffields loaded Peavey cab, correct? I remember seeing a thread somewhere of it being painted. Sweet 200s is sweet!

I had a chance to acquire an older X100B(grey carpet/EL34) this winter and I blew it. And yes, time to find more cabs.

V2 cab, right? Man, I'm starting to gas for a V4 head rather badly right now between this picture and the one above.

Sweet rigs guys.

I think it's loaded with Eminence speakers. Or Eminence clones. Wormdirt would know.

LOL. The picture doesn't capture how precarious that 212 is either. It's basically just a square block. I dig.

I took out the sheffields and put in lady luck "clones" I guess. I took them out of my epiphone triggerman cab. They're unmarked so I emailed gibson and they said they were unbranded lady lucks. :idk:
