I send out emails for quotes on cabs, and I almost NEVER get anything back.

list of companies that get a massive "fuck you" for ignoring me or downright laughing in responses.

electric (phew, dodged THAT bullet)
emperor (see electric)
dictator / whatever the fuck they are now (ignored)
atlas (emailed a few times never heard anything back)
mojotone (on your site you say if you want a 12x12 you will do it, then when someone wants an 8x12 you guys laugh)
olde crow (emailed a few times never heard anything back, blame Canada. gfy)
3 local cabinet builders (one that can actually build GREAT cabs but fuck you)

why the fuck is a quote for an 812 orange styled green tolex cab so goddamn ignorable.
(some of) you cock-gobblers already do 6x12s why in the flying dildos is an 8x12 so goddamn different.

I know SLK would do it in a heartbeat but shipping would rape me hard. unless we could do no dock required freight? I could get it sent to my work......

hmm that might be a thought....

sorry gentlemen im pissed today

When I was getting quotes on my 612 I mostly got really prompt, helpful responses. The only one out of those I also emailed was Atlas, who is actually making it, so I'm surprised. Petras was really prompt and helpful with me.

'75 Precision and '80 4001. I need to make an offer to finally make these mine. What do you guys think?

$1250 for the Precision. I see mid to late '70s Precisions sell for $1500 in great condition and all original. Sunbursts with rosewood fretboards get a bit more for some reason and Antiguas get the most. The one in my hands has a non original pickguard, missing thumb-rest and pickup cover. Pickup will need to be replaced or re-winded as both coils where open/intermittent when I got it and while I got it working, it feedbacks quite badly at gig volume even when clean.

$1500 for the 4001. Prices on late '70s/early '80s 4001 are all over the place. It depends on finishes/binding/pickguard. I see that Azureglo is very popular and they are selling for around $2000 along with the tuxedo white finish/black binding/pickguard and black with black pickguard. Mapleglo, a few bursts and black with white binding/pickguard are fetching less at around $1750. The one I have I repaired a crack and lifted fretboard at the truss-rod. It also needs a new truss-rod block as the aluminum one is fucked and the rods hold very little tension because of it. One knob was broken/repaired very badly.

i agree that it's weird that atlas didn't get back to you. i've been in touch with petras a little about some cabs and he has really responsive and thorough and fast. sure you got the right email? i've never heard that complaint about him. unfortunately my pay got cut by around 35% overnight about a month ago, so it's going to be a little longer than i had planned before i could manage to save for new cabs.

Sooooooo my band got kicked out of our practice space today because the bass is disputing the whole building apparently (even after cutting down on amount of cabs we were using). This really sucks since it's hard enough to find a space to play in this city. The dudes that run the space are really nice and were apologetic, but I still feel kinda bitter about it. Anyway, just needed to rant a bit. Now to figure out where to move. #doomproblems

Maybe i'm missing something, but why would you get an 8x12 when you could just get a fullstack (i.e. two 4x12's?)

We lost our friend and founding member of Flux, Zak Deckard, to a motorcycle accident yesterday. PLease don't post a bunch of condolences, Just wanted to bring it up for those who knew him. All that's going on on facebook now and it's nice to have a place to escape that. He was an awesome dude and we miss the hell out of him. Tony and I spent most of the day hanging out and dealing with it. Hopefully we can honor his memory by living life to the fullest and in a way that he would be proud of.

Looks like I missed an epic shitstorm in the main forum, will have to catch up.

How about a 16x12? Bonus, you get to drive a forklift to load it in/out!

Also, PNW/West coast folks, we've got a tour announcement coming in a couple of weeks that, if everything works out, is going to be fucking nuts. Cross your fingers and pray to the demon of your choice that this band is able to swing the dates with us.

Great stuff, really looking forward to the whole album.
