It's me... absolutely not. I love how musicians who have jammed with him describe his playing style. To paraphrase; "He's the ultimate rythmn guitarist, you can take a three chord progression and he'll play 27 chords to it, 9 versions of E, 9 versions of A and 9 versions of C, all in the same riff, he must know every god damn chord in the book!"

Also I'd be lying if I said I didn't find this guitar after watching "The Other One" on netflix and seeing him jam out on his custom Artist while working on a song. I was like what the fuck he had an Ibanez Sig? I thought he was a hollowbody player, and he still kinda mainly is, but apparently likes the ibby's.

braaandooon wrote:Sick ass artist you got there. I've been lusting for the the Steve Miller version, that one has an active 3 band eq built into it. One day I will own one.

Thanks!!! Wow that's a beaut!! Those electronics kinda scare me though haha Is that a japan only model like the Weir?

ShaolinLambKiller wrote:Dig the guitar Skip, most of the time I dislike SG's but that one looks great and makes me want to play it. esp since you said it has the weight of an LP.

Pope... cool I'll add it to my que to watch. I like english humor.

Thanks! This one is actually closer to a Les Paul double cut more so than an SG, I think thats why I did it.

AxAxSxS wrote:Nice on the Ibby! I can attest to the nice heft of those, solid feeling guitar.

Ramp is also a good idea, I wonder how hard it would be to install the ones like a u-haul has, that store under the vehicle.

Gracias! Yeah man its definitely freakin solid, yet it plays soooo smooth.

I grew up with it so I have a weird love-hate thing with them. Musically I like a lot of their stuff but the scene and the culture of the dead in and around the bay area takes on it's own life but they can only have so much control over that. My bass player grew up next to Phil Lesh and said he's a good guy.

Understandable, if you watch the documentary I mentioned earlier Bob Weir even admits that they hate the culture that formed around them. Apparently by the mid 80's the band realized that the fans were showing up more to get fucked up and take drugs than to see the music, and they didn't like it.

But yeah I can only take a limited amount of Wookie exposure at any given time.

Because according to him it went from being both, to mostly being about the drugs. In a perfect world both could be achievable but its a balancing act that is impossible when it counts on the collective consciousness of thousands of individuals.

And agreed.

I'm not convinced the survey is legit. I finished it and got prompted for a login. No go?

EDIT: Final post. Or should I go back and delete some old comments?

Weird, it didn't do that for me? Also, no affiliation, a friend found it and posted it on Facebook.

Lemme get one of those blue line Ampegs. I wonder what percentage of those amps are squirreled away in and around New Orleans.

Yeah, to be honest they are probably dollar for dollar my favourite brand.
I don't mind their shred beasts either. If you wanna go fast, they sure fucking get that right.
Dat wizard neck. Dem frets.
If one was to despise all other qualities of an Ibanez, one would have to concede that they make amazing fucking necks.
AMAZING.
