re the jaw thing, have you seen a dentist recently? you could be teeth grinding. 'bruxism' is the medical term. it's a stress thing. but it can set a chain reaction going across your muscles, especially in the neck and back. can be linked to migranes too. nerve routes, etc.
while the stress thing is something you will have to work out yourself, depending on what is making you stressed, you can get a silicon mouth guard that you wear in bed (i've got one) that both stops you wearing your teeth away and also absorbs and spreads the force of your clenching to some extent, and so can limit it spreading to other muscle areas.
it won't stop you grinding or clenching, but it will stop you wrecking your teeth (with the pain and expense that goes with that) and maybe lessen some of the knock-on nerve and muscle effects of that lockjaw thing.
because i''m low-income i got mine free (uk healthcare system is pretty cool, don't know why america fucks healthcare up so badly, you are supposed to be civilised) but i can't imagine they would cost more than a mid-range stomp. and might help you sleep better, which could make a big difference with how you manage your stress.
but you do have my sympathy. that overwhelmed feeling is not a good one to carry with you. best of luck with it.
