after using my ebay bucks it cost me 40 bucks.

I've got two of those, a black and a blue one. LOVE THOSE BEASTS!!!! They definitely benefit from a pickup change from the get go but they are easy as ell to setup with super low super easy action and they are rock solid as far as staying in tune / in setup. If you do decide to go to super thick strings (like a .79 on the low string like I use) you will have to file away some of the metal on the back of the bridge so the strings dont make contact and start a funky ringing. If you go this route hit me up and I'll help you out.

Finally finished assembling my one piece pine body P bass that I made from scratch. Mighty Mite neck, Dimarzio pickup, Emerson prewired guts, DR Nickel Lo-Rider strings. Got it all setup and working, sounds and plays great! It's been so long since I bought the parts and made the actual body, it's like I just got a free bass.

DUUUUUUUUDE!!!!! It turned out sick!!!! Great job!!

A question for you dudes, really need the advice of gear-flippers.

At the moment, I'm in desperate need of money; my girlfriend and I are really low on cash, need to pay the rent and haven't got stable work at the moment. I've got a Gibson Les Paul, and a Fender Jazzmaster sitting around. The Gibson gets loads of attention, and the Jazzmaster not so much because it needed some work and I just didn't get around to doing it.

I was going to sell the Jazzy, but it's going to get the work it needs done either way, and if I sell it, I'll be losing probably £300 on what I bought it for. I can sell the Gibson for basically what I bought it for, and for a lot more than the Jazzmaster.

How much flippers remorse am I likely to have? Neither guitar is of massive emotional significance to me, and both are really good gortars; the Jazzy would require a bit of tweaking to be stoner rock worthy, whilst the LP does it straight out of the packet and can go that much heavier.

Can I get some advice on what you chaps would do if you were in my situation (which I assume most of you have been at some point)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the opposite of the others, sell the jazzy. Your all ready happy with the LP, and it does what you want from the get go. The Jazzy is not quite what you want, and needs work. As stated before LP's are dime a dozen, and often hard to sell quickly due to over saturation of the market. Jazzies on the other hand are much harder to find, and those who are looking for them usually have plans to mod them so they don't mind superficial issues. So while you might not get as much money out of the jazzy you will probably find that it moves faster and easier, which may help if rent is due soon. Just my .02

The tech/luthier that set it up for me complimented the look and feel of it profusely too, which was nice. I was thinking about putting a nicer neck on it in the future, that's just a cheap Mighty Mite one, but it actually feels totally fine. The only hardware on it that I didn't buy new are the tuners, they came with the neck used, so we'll see how those pan out.

I was planning on making a Tele or Esquire for my next build, whenever that may be. I'll probably throw a MM neck on that one too, based on my experience with the P neck. I bought it used, so I don't know if the previous owner gave it a fret dressing or if it was ever even used. The price is right though and they seem to be of solid quality.

I actually prefer the light satin finish on the MM neck. One of the only things I didn't like about my MIM P feel wise was the gloss finish. Most of my favorite necks are satin or oiled.

I can appreciate both finishes but the MM never got sticky or slick, the MIM definitely did depending on temp and perspiration conditions. On guitar though I like having a good glossy finish, not sure why, maybe its cause I hold my left hand differently when playing bass than when I'm playing guitar.

Got my GFS Power Rails bridge pickup and some locking Gotoh style tuners in the mail today. Upgrading the Ibanez Gio guitar I got for $80 + shipping last week. Time to start writing some Terrorizer style riffs and whipping up some blast beasts on Superior Drummer.
