Scorpions or Black Widows? :poke:

I got my 65amps 1x15 from a not-clear auction. The hang tag on the cab is incorrect too.
Ends up I won an Apollo bass cab, not a guitar cab. Which means it's got ports in addition to awesome speaker. I'll post a pic tomorrow. It's like new. :!!!:

Psyched to play through it, but my back is spasming on and off today. :(

The CL ad said Sheffields, but they look more like Black Widows. I just peeked through the back, I'll get a better look when I pull them. Half-done stripping the tolex already...

This is good news, indeed.

Would one of those fancy jazzmaster bridges fix it?

Nah, its isn't that, its the long length of string that goes from the bridge to the tailpiece. It always resonates really funky and tends to be a little noisy. It really isn't that bad I guess, but I'm just used to LP style bridges.

I can see that taking some getting used to. I honestly think the roller/bigsby combo on that green tele I had was one of the reasons I didn't bond with it. That and I thought it was 'dead' - the guy I sold it to made that shit wail, so maybe I just suck at guitar...

I'll be looking into straplocks for the LP, especially since it will live in it's case to save it from my destructive ass toddler, but the washers are a great option for my other guitars.

My dunwich hm2 arrived today and I have to work all night. So excited, but it's going to be a long torturous night. Really excited for practice tomorrow night.

samzadgan- there's like zero fret wear, it's like whoever had it before rarely played it. it looks new.ish...

Iommic Pope- only did a bit of research prior to getting it, I knew it was at that shop for the last 3 years since I had been going in it when I visited up here. I really loved the feel and weight of it, since it's very heavy. I only got to play it 3 years ago when I was trying out the Ampeg SS140c and Krank cab I bought from them at that time, and really hadn't really stopped thinking about it. So I had to go back and get it but get it at the price I wanted. When I get home and really get to blow it out proper I'll give a better report to keep a eye out.

Thank ya T-rey.. had to be like you but on a small scale, haha.

I liked Seattle the last time I visited, mostly because of Shorty's, and because the dive bar scene there seems pretty good. I was out super late on a Tuesday and there were still people out partying.

Eugene seems to have the best doom/stoner/psych/metal band ratio to population of any town in America, but I haven't been there in a decade and only know what I see on YouTube so who knows what it's like to live there full time.

Portland is really fun, thinking of going down there next week for a couple of days if things work out. Good places to buy gear, good record stores, great beer and food.

What we need is a network of doom tour guides. Like if you are stuck in Vancouver for some reason send me a PM and I'll give you a tour of a bunch of craft breweries, or I'll tell you where the best record stores are, or I'll show you where you can find a crusty punk show in a dive bar, whatever floats your boat.

^ Yeah exactly.

Which is why it helps to get some tips on where all the hidden gems are when visiting somewhere.

It's hard to go way more back on the shit you're into than everyone else - to the point of Amishness - when you still have to instagram your artisinal coffee on your Macbook Air.

Just came home from one of the best jam sessions ive ever had. Me and another guitarist...first half we worked on a doomy band based song in leu of bass and drums...during the half way break we talked about early earth stuff and other noise type music...then went back in and came up with some amazing shit and relaised where we connect is on slow drony noise orientated music...almost smashed out a full song...was so fuckin invigorating!

We ended the night with a smoke and talked about just being a two peice, both of us running dual rigs and doing weird drony shit. So the band is now set!

Now onto names...options so far...

Hive Mind
Elder Gods

Also played the dunwich hm2 through my Matamp...at volume and that thing is amazing...everyone should own one...seriously!
