I'm playing FF4 on PSP and it just.got.hard.
I loved it, until Edge.... That was just frustrating beyond belief.coldbrightsunlight wrote:FF4 is so gooood
Haha he's a little annoying. But didn't ultimately spoil the rest for mecalfzilla wrote:I loved it, until Edge.... That was just frustrating beyond belief.coldbrightsunlight wrote:FF4 is so gooood
9 is my favorite of the series for some reason. Just felt like it had a better combat system. Boss battles actually require skill changing and stuff like that. Also you can hodge-podge a team together if you work on specific characters. Lots of fun!Eivind August wrote:Played FF4 earlier this year (GBA port), and it was so great. Didn't really find it grindy, but my prior experience with jrpgs was the old Dragon Quests, so...Anyway, 4 got me hooked enough that I went through 5, 6 and finally finished 7 this summer. Good stuff. Got 9 downloaded on my Switch, but that will have to wait until after Dragon Quest XI.
In similar news, after loving Terranigma I blasted through Illusion of Gaia on my SNES Classic. Man, that was a clusterfuck of shoddy storytelling. Fun gameplay, though.
That sounds fun...VREEEEVROOOOOW wrote:Anyone played the 9 remaster? I remember reading it had like an adventure mode-thing where you get tonnes of XP so you don't have to grind and can just replay it for the story's sake. That's very appealing to me.
if it's like the 7+8 remasters, you can click the analog sticks to put god mode oncalfzilla wrote:That sounds fun...VREEEEVROOOOOW wrote:Anyone played the 9 remaster? I'd rather have a "start the game at max level" mode so I could finally do that stupid speed run to get Ragnarok II
Yeah 9 was always my favourite for a combination of art, story, and the system and gameplay. I've honestly never found it grindy and I've played it a bunch of times. I'm always interested enough in doing all the side things that enough xp just turns up.calfzilla wrote:9 is my favorite of the series for some reason. Just felt like it had a better combat system. I think 9 was the first time I did all the optional bosses. Even Ozma. Then I played X and Alpha and Omega weapon were complete jokes and it made me miss the difficult side bosses.coldbrightsunlight wrote:Yeah 9 was always my favourite for a combination of art, story, and the system and gameplay. Except Ozma. Fuck that
