Cold Yet Bright Yet Warm Yet Loooove Light - thanks! do ALL THE THINGS.

this is way more simple -

Nord Drums into Ritual Electronics Miasma (missssssed her)
QuBit Surface into Noise Eng Desmodus Versio
Noise Eng Cursus Iteritas into Super Critical Neutron Flux
Metron doing sequences/triggering Surface and Javelin for Cursus
Voltera the 2 note change
Maestro the feedback pattern on Miasma, the freq sweep on N Flux, the octave switching on Cursus

Museeeeeee - right? it's so DELICIOUS. all the immediacy of Batumi, more fun to program options than Volt Blocks.

Not modular, but..
Microfreak owners, any cons? I only have 1 synth, the Minilogue XD, and I'm thinking about adding the Microfreak to explore a bit with different kinds of synthesis. I want something small to have around and have some fun with, and the size and the price tag of the MF really tempt me.

:excellent:
I mean, you can find one for about 200€ on the used market, at that price point I don't think there are many synth that can compete.

yeah I think it's pretty top of the range for the price point at least far as I can see! I will maaaaaybe snag one this year once I'm done modular splurging hehe.

On that note, I found a Mangrove the other day! So that'll be a lot of fun

don't have one, key ALMOST buying one. NoiseEng doing 3 new models for it makes it almost impossible to not order.

keep meaning to check, if the black one does vocoding of one buys the mic separate, totes going to order. don't really want the white one.

have a ZPO and Dipole hitting soooooooon.

Microfreak is pretty cool. I had one and was using it as faux Buchla controller but also had fun with it as a synth too. I am probably getting another (I used it to even up a trade value).

I buy a MicroFreak and rec'd it yesterday. Black version w/ goose neck mic and Vocoder firmware. Stoked to update to 3.0 and get Noise Engineering oscs! So far it sounds great. Fun to have such a knobby interface for digital synthesis methodologies. So far it sounds fat and good. I have only made a few patches but it's simple to get up and running. No idea if it makes "regular sounds" because I only like weird sounds. It makes weird sounds quite fluently. That is my honeymoon review. Oh, also the CV and gate out will come in handy.

I'm still very tempted by the MicroFreak, but I need to keep reminding myself to just use my Organelle more instead. I've set up my Organelle with my Zoom H5 as a mic and it is super fun to experiment with weird effects and vocoder modes!

I think the MicroFreak and Organelle do not equate. The Organelle is a Pure Data patch player interface. The MicroFreak is a fixed architecture digital synthesizer. I would use the Organelle to make weird critter noises and the MicroFreak for fat synth tones. I understand some Organelle patches can make fat tones but when I used the Organelle a few years ago, I mostly heard critter noises coming out of it.

Yeah, the main reason I would want a MicroFreak is more for weird noises and the vocoder than for fat synth tones; I have all my synth bases covered with the Matriarch/Werkstatt (analog Mood sounds), DX7 (digital FM sounds), and Digitakt (sample mangling sounds). I honestly think think the MicroFreak would go mostly unused in my setup, which is why I haven't grabbed one. I mainly got the Organelle for the weird critter noises that it definitely excels at making.

Edit: I was mostly equating the two as they both have vocoders, but they are indeed vastly different synths

Ahh, gotcha. I don't even know how to use a vocoder, LOL.

Nabbed one from REVERB.COM for 275$ basically NIB.

No idea where duder got the goose neck from but it's the black version w the vocoder firmware.

I just updated it to the newest with the Noise Engineering voices. I am at my job now but can't wait to dive in!
