So if I'm not using MIDI, no need for me to update again?
The issue the 856 would not respond to midi clock msgs when set to use the midi clock to control the tempo. This is now fixed. AFAIK all other midi control worked fine and all other functionality worked fine/there are no other changes in this update.
1.6 has been removed from our website and replaced with 1.6.4.

Just spent a few hours with the 856 For Zellersasn.
Finding "unity" in terms of N1 pitch compared to dry signal is a bit tricky.
I guess I'll either get the hang or realize that the pedal allows for skinning
onions from different angles.
This sloppy little clip is just me and guitar into Your & You're and 856 For Zellersasn.
The recording is a bit wonky. I just set the recorder on a shelf near my amp.
Might try to rejigger all aspects of this. Time allows. Adjust TMPO/REP. ∆

if you give the unity switch a flick, it will re-pitch all your P's to unity for a given N. I've found this super helpful when adjusting the pitch of my "loop/sample" and then wanting to be musical by bringing it back to the tonic on a rhythmic turn-around.

Thanks for the pointer. I'm still sifting through all the controls and options. This sounds like an option I will have to remember.

Ive been spending a lot of time w this box. I do still feel that having a threshold to wake the gain knob is critical. At this point the only place I think it is needed is on gain. When toggling between Ns and fading things up and down it is extremely difficult to avoid volume jumps when you first touch the button which really limits what you can do live with the pedal. I'm sure w MIDI I can get around this problem but would LOVE it if the Gain knob required you to cross a threshold of where it was set when you last were controlling that N to make it active.

Hopefully we will have another major point release update around the end of the year. I cant say for sure at the moment what will be changed but by November i should have more info on what to expect. If you have any other comments or suggestions feel free to note them here or email me directly.

I probably should have put some sort of Easter Egg around the 8:56 minute mark.

For the above video I used half of the original audio clip.
So out of curiosity I set the second half to the same visuals.
These are the results. Some nice happy accidents came together
after syncing one audio change with the overlapping crowd shot.

Here's how I am using mine for the foreseeable future.
It really does catch that modular "this is the best thing you'll never be able to do again" vibe.
