Daemon X Machina’s so rad. The missions do get longer eventually. I played it over a five day weekend when it first came out. On some of the levels the difficulty was insane. They must’ve reconfigured the difficulty a bit, because when I played it again about a year later it was a ton easier.

Following up on a weird mood, I installed Fallout 2 on my new-ish computer. I don't need to play it again, mind... I just like the comfort of knowing I could if I needed to. Pleased that the CD-Rom still worked and Windows 10 is still willing to run it... who knows when that'll change. Installed the Restoration Project as well, and ran it enough to see that it all seems fine, so at some point down the road I'll be good to go.

Your avatars always made me regret not trying Deus Ex.

oh, just play the first one
There are some mods for textures and also more expansive mods that do other things. personally I think if you're happy with how old games look just play it OG style.
In terms of the rest of the series, Invisible War is... ok but not great. That's a skip, if there is one. Though it certainly isn't
terrible and there were actually some fairly innovative things in it. Human Revolution was pretty solid and more modern but IMO isn't a patch on the first one. I had quite a bit of fun playing through it but it didn't really grab me as much as an experience. Just as an illustration I've played it once and tried to start it another time. I've played the first game about 4 times through, and I only started playing it in about 2009 so it was already very dated when I got into it. I haven't played Mankind Divided but I certainly would like to pick it up at some point just to see what's what.

First one it is! I'm absolutely fine with dated graphics and even dodgy controls I get used to after the first hour anyway. I find my self enjoying games I missed from the PS1/2 era more than I do a lot of newer releases most of the time these days... they feel like less work.

yeah if you can handle slightly weird graphics and controls and stuff just play it. I gave the warning because I know some people have grown too used to newer games to enjoy that stuff anymore haha

I have a weird fondness for inventory systems where you have to arrange each item within a grid and that's all you get.
The first Planetside was my shiiiiiit.

I could never really get into it for some reason. I've installed and deleted it about 5 times but never got very far. Maybe I'll try again, lol.
Daemon x Machina looks like it might satisfy my Armored Core hankering...

The way I understood it, it had some of the same people working on it. It even has some of the same robot parts.

I've been enjoying Watch Dogs Legion quite a bit. I wasn't planning on playing it, but I picked it up when Cyberpunk was delayed again. It's a lot of fun recruiting random people of the street and to just mess with people by hacking everything around them. Overall, it's a really easy game though. The spiderbot is insanely overpowered. I strongly suggest playing on hard and with permadeath enabled.

I enjoyed the first two but I'm gonna hold off on getting Legion until it's on sale and the DLC stuff has released since I heard the original story is pretty generic while the DLC is supposed to bring back characters from the previous games and expand their stories.
