I think they're actually pickups from a Gibson S1.

After picking up a Bass VI, going back to a guitar with .10's has felt really wimpy to me. So today I put some D'Addario .11-.49's on my Jag and tuned down a half step. Feels and sounds so good.

You were playing .010s on a jag? Wow! I think .011s feel too puny on mine, but different strokes and all that. Maybe I should try 10s some time.
Today has been beautiful and after I escaped from the office I've had a haircut, gone for a run and it's still lovely! What a great day.
Oooo new clothes arrived in the post too. Pimp.

Took apart a busted turntable for its guts and found out that I can desolder things fast as hell now...used to make me wanna snap the circuit board in half and slit my throat with it.

I guess so. It took a long time for soldering to not be infuriating for me, I used to get so pissed when something went wrong. Absolutely hated it the whole way. I only kept at it because there was no fucking way I was paying for simple repairs/replacements/mods on stuff that I knew could be DIY'd. Now it's alright. I wanted to give up many times, though.
The only real trick to it is that I hit the point with a super tiny amount of solder to melt it faster and more completely. I keep the desoldering thing in the same hand as the solder and switch between them.
Also this is sooooooooo usefulllllllllllllllllll

The exhaust side goes through a dryer sheet. Before this I was blowing on stuff as it was being soldered.
Solder fumes make me hungry, I wonder if it's a light case of metal fume fever.

I'm getting to go see Ghost in Lawrence, KS Tuesday night and I am way too excited. I haven't been to a concert since the Glen Campbell retirement show in Branson, MO back in 2012, so this will be pretty great. Then, the Arcade Fire is Saturday. My third Arcade Fire show, but I'm still really excited.

Having that girl over for dinner tonight.
I go so overboard whenever I cook for anyone else. If it's just me, I'll microwave a frozen pizza. But anyone else comes over and... well I just finished making the second of the two different cheescakes that I'll be serving after dinner.

It went well. In terms of conversation it was like my dream date. A solid 50% of it was talking about music - mostly metal. She wants to go see Agalloch with me when they come to town.
I have another date with her in a few days.
