Since I know nothing about web development, I thought I'd offer this probably unrealistic suggestion:
since more and more of us use little instagram for videos and gear pics, maybe trying to utilize the embed function that desktop instagram has would be cool?

Seconded! Links are boring. Embeds are pretty.

Is there any way we can get a "Delete Thread" option on the message folder/inbox?

Is there any way to make it so that I can use search at this time so that I do not need to try again in a few minutes?

Question:
What does it cost to update the forum software to a more modern platform with notifications, larger PM's, more forgiving pic uploads, et cetera?
I'd be willing to bet we could pass the hat and make it happen.

or get more people to donate monthly -- which can be done at the bottom of the page.

Yeah. I just buy $10 of stickers twice a year. I don't want to go monthly though, I feel to fragile and unstable economically (student life) to commit even a small sum, but scratching a few extra for a one time update thing is totally feasible.

I donate monthly.
The donations help with the server costs, but in terms of forum software the cost is Tom's time, which is harder to get at. I mean, that fuzz isn't going to hug itself.

a self-hugging fuzz? sounds like Eivind would be all over that
edit: just tried becoming an entry-level-donator, no dice, would need creditcard

I donate monthly, but would happily chip in more for a board upgrade. As others have mentioned though, no idea what the complexity or cost of doing that sort of thing is.
I think I'd mainly just like notifications. I'm less interested in being able to like posts (I mean, that's fine, but could kinda take it or leave it), more in something like a ping when someone quotes you. Sometimes I'll realize someone responded to something I said and I totally missed it. Just would help for stayin' on top of convos.

Just don't log out or have a life and check new posts constantly. Works perfectly.
