I know you do.

LOL!! I've suggested it to you for a few things, so I could kind of tell. hahahaha.
It's totally worth it though to make sure things are right. I've tried the guessing game before with myself and it fucking sucks. I just resign to letting the doc figure it out now. I'm getting too old to mess around.

I quit eating meat except for fish and added spirulina, fish oil, and turmeric supplements to my diet a month ago. I have way more energy and sleep 7-8 hours straight through the night without waking up for the first time in my life. I also ride my bike 33.3% further in the span of an hour. Finally hit my goal weight too. Everything's coming up Milhouse.

^^^^^^^^ I always wonder about stuff like that. That's why I'm trying to keep track of what I eat and how I feel throughout each day. I've met (and read from people online) a number of people who went veggie or vegan and suddenly had more energy, better recovery, etc..... I'm terrified of trying it though

Mostly because there's so much research about carbs and inflammation, etc.... Which is weird when there are all these vegetarian/vegan athletes who say they feel better.....
If I get the spare money, sometime I'd like to get a 23andMe test done. Dr Rhonda Patrick (
http://foundmyfitness.com ) has a tool for taking your 23andME data to tell what kinds of nutrients your body processes well or poorly. I'm not sure how things like your gut microbiome play into that.... but it sure would be helpful to see how your genetics are influencing how well you process certain kinds of food.

It'll be interesting cutting things.... I already am allergic to dairy, haven't done gluten in a long while, and my main sources of carbs are yams/sweet potatoes, and occasional oats. I do rice sometimes, but I try to limit it to only after intense workouts.

I'm having to restructure my diet too. My stomach is really sensitive and can't handle the same stuff I used to eat. I also have grown allergic to bananas or something, give me an awful stomach ache which sucks because I love bananas and they were my go to breakfast food. I'd love some suggestions on what you guys eat for breakfast food, dairy and meat are hard on my stomach so something vegan would be nice. my stomach is very sensitive during the morning for some reason, so I usually start out with fruit then eat a bagel or something.

I have a sensitive stomach in the mornings too. It's a pain in the ass. It's probably also an indicator of something that's not right in my body

The eggs I eat for breakfast are about the most I can comfortably tolerate.
You could always try fruit or oats or something carb-y (if you like the carbs, that is) with a protein shake. It's good to get protein at breakfast, and if you want a vegan option that won't be super carb heavy, I'd go with a shake. Hemp protein is great, and there are a number of companies that make vegetarian protein blends that have the full spectrum of amino acids.

After Jwar mentioning the adrenal/cortisol issue and hearing about it numerous other places lately as well, I picked the Adrenal Reset Diet book. Pretty interesting—less of a diet, more of a lifestyle change. I haven't gotten all the way through the book, but it touches on meditation-like breathing exercises, recommends yoga, stuff like that. I'm intrigued by it to say the least... hey, was worth the 15 bucks. Will report my findings...

Awesome! I'm definitely interested in hearing about it! I'll maybe just pick that sucker up myself!

I know that raw licorice root can help restore adrenal function. I had some for a bit my sister gave me, and it did help. You can also get licorice extract (liquid form) and that stuff works great for me.
The breathing and yoga I'm sure do help a ton. It's centers your body. My friends make fun of me because I like yoga. LOL. It's so freaking good for you.

Haha... people who make fun of yoga... they're just morons. All it takes is a class or two and they'll realize they've been dead wrong.

That shit is not easy! I told my coach/business partner that he ought to try bikram yoga and he laughed. I said "motherfucker you aren't going to be laughing when you're sore as fuck for three weeks afterwards". That shit is ridiculous. I took one class during my PT school and it was fucking crazy. 90 minutes of hell. LOL! I'd never been so sore in my fucking life!
I love hatha yoga the most. It relaxes me.
Speaking of uncomfortable things. Apparently I'm a fatty, so my I just lost 300 calories a day from my nutrition plan. Sigh. Bodybuilding. Fuck you.

LOL

Yeah dude--Bikram is brutal. I can't do that shit, just too damn hot. I do Vinyasa, which for me falls nicely between the two. Doesn't destroy me like Bikram, but a little more of a workout than Hatha. It is super nice to just take one of the minimal impact restorative classes from time to time though.

don't any of you guys have KVARG in your countries? quark. qua.. kva.. whatever. it's like a yoghurt non-fat cottage cheese type deal. dat protein.
Yeah I think it's sold here as quark, typically. Haven't tried it though! Cottage cheese is considered a good source of dairy protein though, from what I've seen as of late. Low glycemic index or something of that ilk
But yep, I believe what defines Vinyasa, or at least the "flow" classes I take, is moving fairly quickly through a sequence of poses. A lot of times your "vinyasa" will be something like standing > full fold > legs back to plank > lower evenly onto the mat > baby cobra or up dog > down dog. You usually do that to cap off a sequence, then start a new one. There are also "power" Vinyasa classes at the place I go to, but I'm too scared of those, haha... basically a lot quicker transitions, plus more ambitious poses. A lot of them involve balance, which I'm TOTALLY shitty at.
The place I do it keeps the temp at around 100 degrees F. I think Bikram's something like 110, which is just too damn much. Can't deal!
