they're an Australian band that do this revolutionary new thing called 'psychedelic rock', you should check out one of their concerts if you ever need an excuse to take pills and smoke weed with 14-year-old's whilst jumping around incessantly even though the music itself is slow and un-energetic.

You guys got off lucky. I had to listen to them at local gigs for three years before they released Inner Speaker and when they finally fucked off Pond just took their place.

Speaking of puking, if you every used an electric sander to sand copper plate, wear a mask. I think I got copper powder in my lungs now. I'm an idiot (fiberglass whas the worst when I did that).

I liked Tame Impala at first, but their songs get worse and worse the more you listen to them. I also can never decide if I like the Beatles or not

Yall be hatin'. I haven't been a Tame Impala fan for long, but the production quality and catchiness of Lonerism is fantastic. Same with the new stuff (album comes out tomorrow, sweet). Yeah, it's not very ground breaking or whatever, but I find them/him hella fun to listen to.
At the very least, I can put it on at a party and people wont be staring at me like "wtf r u doin?" like most of my other music choices

No dude they suck and have sucked for a while which is why I get so weirded out when they come up in conversation still
they're like the Jet of psych rock bands and not because of their common continent.

I have a love/hate thing with party music. People are so opposed to the idea of my choices (including my wife) they get all pissed off (I think they think I am going to spin some GISM or Tranquilizer). I always just put on stuff like Al Hirt plays TV themes, 1960s garage/punk stuff, or old first wave punk and they love it when they get passed the idea that it is my music. My wife just wants 80s music usually (so I put on 1980s Cabaret Voltaire, Devo, and a few other choice records). I dunno, I've been to parties where they only play like hip hop (mostly newer stuff) and it just gets grating (and I love some hip hop). At least I don't put on Yes, Steve Wilson, Bjork (which I like but not when I'm partyin') at parties or that Jason Mraz singer song writer crap like everybody else in my group in LA.
My friend put on women reading erotic literature over chill techno at a party once which was awesome for the confusion.
Tame Impala though...some of their fans will not let the fact that they aren't that original go. They are like radiohead fans, haha (I live with one! but she is pretty realistic and would rather listen to supergrass at a party). I mean, they are ok...don't turn the station on the radio when they come on. But I skipped them at Coachella (and got shit for it). haha. Not my thing, but like other background music, it doesn't make me angry.

Oh, I forgot about Jet..let's run one riff per song into the ground because we suck and have no creativity. That stuff was awful. Right on, D.o.S.
Wear your dust mask!

Wait, you don't put Bjork on at parties? Why wouldn't you do that. Homogenic is a pretty good party album I think.

One of the best party soundtracks I can remember was a mix of the Shins, but im pretty sure that was a fluke.
