Fuck et, downloaded the new U2 album to give it a proper listen. Cause I'm a glutton for punishment.
It's ok. U2 fans will love it, lots of classic U2 sounds on it. The slow songs and the lyrics are the big weak points, but the instrument tones and riffs are pretty good. So it's ok, if your not a U2 fan your not missing much.

I have no baseline for U2, as I have never really listened to them of my own volition before now, but I thought it was alright, as well.
The stereotypical Edge delays don't come in until halfway through the record and he's got some pretty nice sounding dirt.

They exist as a new band now but one of my favorite local bands to see abut ~5 years ago and still are great now.

Also, going back and listening to everyone's stuff while I study (at least, attempt to study, I keep getting distracted by old Victorian post-mortem photos on pinterest,they make me a little sad, though) I've realised if I was at UG's house for a party and it was really late and I was really baked and he put most of what he posted on, I'd be pretty down with that. I may pass out on his couch though, that is some easy listening.

The Soil and Pimp Sessions are probably one of my favorite things that don't involve a guitar and 20 fuzz pedals in tandem, way too good.
