Just spent about 5 hours recording at my old college. professor let me in to use the xylophone room. Recorded some xylo, piano, organ, percussion, etc. Good stuff, loys on fun, especially yelling and killing a floor tom in super open two story section of the building.
Hopefully I got something usable

Did you laugh/TWSS when Jimmy Stewart said "I want a BIG ONE!" when suitcase shopping? My mother-in-law was not amused, and I just cracked up was all.

This was excellent. 8 hours of beer and black metal. Falls of Rauros and Wodensthrone were absolutely killer. Holy fuck. Wodensthrone's set was nearly two hours and it never got old. The other bands were all great to, I would not have skipped any of them, I can't imagine a much better lineup.

I'm recording the stuff from my microcasette into the computer now, definitely some usable stuff!
I really need to get a digital micro recorder so I can record my improv jams looping these field recordings.

Went out into the forest with my father today, killed ourselves a christmas tree. Then I made some cakes and stuff. And tomorrow I'm going into Oslo with some friends to watch the Hobbit and have or yearly christmas drink-a-ton. Life is swell.

Someone finally turned the clock in the cafeteria of the office building I work in so that the 12 is in the 12 spot instead of the 3 spot. That had bothered me every waking moment for the past 5 years.

Haven't heard Wodensthrone, but FoR are super fucking rad and really good dudes, too.
In happiness news, Vinyl copy of Oceanic arrived.

Yeah I was certainly there for Falls of Rauros and they killed it. Besides a 20 minute break in their set trying to fix something with one of their pedalboards.
Austin came out and did some vox for one of Wodensthrone's songs, he's fucking amazing live. Makes me hope he will assemble a band for playing some Panopticon shows here. I was exhausted after being up early in the day and then standing for 8 hours and having to walk home so I didn't get a chance to talk to any of the FoR dudes but all the performers and fans were great people, really impressive community. Some guy came all the way from Iceland for this show
