What do you guys pay for a shared practice space? Is it split per person or per band?

Well my old studio space was split by band and we had days. Then each band worked out how to split their portion. I had a job, so I had to pay for almost everyone by the end (even the other band...). Too many people and there will be problems (not to mention they broke my sovtek and way too much other stuff so I broke the thing up).

Well a different guy took over the lease and now he wants to charge per band instead of per person, which, as a two piece means we're paying over twice what we used to.

It kind of sucks. It's a good space...

Yea, that kinda sucks if it changed. I don't know how the time is split, but that could be an angle [like you guys get 4 days we get 3...or something. That's kinda how we did it at some point but then it became a youth hostel for a minute so we took back full privelages so I could kick people out whenever I showed up].

Get dude in a headlock and say he'll only get to practice if he agrees to demands.

Start a second "jam" band with people that just want to mess around and break them in on rent.

Get dancers/hypemen/costume people for live sets that practice while you do and have them pay rent.

Patreon, kick starter, indiegogo, etc [joking]

We just got a shared space with four other bands, and split the payment on the number of bands. Since my band is currently a two-piece (me and UC), it's semi-expensive (well, not really compared to what we get and what the options would be), but at least it motivates me to search harder for a drummer. I guess it sucks more for UC, since he's in three of the bands.

I've seen Kung Fury prolly like 23 times now and it's awesome every time...
