Indeed! That is a grand idea. I'd be in for sure. Regarding the Thelonious, when I say "harsh" I guess I mean boozy. Not that I have a problem with boozy beers- that would be stupid. But what I mean is, it felt like the alcohol didn't really jive with what else was going on. Like everything was good and then it felt like the flavor just got derailed and finished weird. Maybe this is a weird description but I don't really understand the whole "oh yes I get notes of phenols and pencil shavings, with a hint of unicorn piss on the back end" explanations.

That being said, I only had 12 ounces of it and that was a while ago. I'd love to try some again.

AH! I get ya - yeah, it's a bit high on the alc. content, and you taste it, for sure. I don't mind that in certain contexts, but I definitely get how it can be problematic.

And the unicorn piss... Well, once you get used to that flavor, nothing else will do.

I mean a lot of beers that I really enjoy pack a wollop of alcohol, but it's done really well. Like St. Bernardus and Old Raspy, some barleywines and stuff. Know what I'm saying brother?

Yeah if we set up a beer trade I'm gonna need you to send me some unicorn piss. I don't think Stone distributes it here so I'm out of luck...

I do know what you're saying, I do. Sadly, I don't know either St. Bernardus or Old Raspy.

Even worse, I think that RI frowns on sending beer through the mail. If we're ever gonna get you that unicorn piss, it will probably have to be in person...

St. Bernardus Abt 12 is like the only beer of the Belgians I really love.

Old Raspy? Is that Old Rasputin or something? Because if it is, I love that one too.

Barleywines are hit or miss.

Yeah, Old Rasputin is one of my favorite beers ever. Strangely enough, I like it better out of bottles than on draught.

OHHHHH! Duhr. YES! I have had Old Rasputin, and love it with a fierceness. My only complaint is that it's so high-alc that it's typically one and done for me. But then, so is the Brother Thelonius.

Actually, I need to pick up some more Rasputin - thanks for reminding me!

Oh looky here - I did take pix of a few selections. Forgot all about that Scottish Porter. It was delish.

Not exactly beer, but I finally got around to opening up something I picked up while travelling last summer: Colorado Cider Company's "Grasshop-ah". It's an apple cider, but it's hopped, and I think it's kind of amazing.
