Went to this big party event on Saturday that Shocktop put on. I think Shocktop is pretty meh at best, but I can't argue with all you can drink and eat for free, plus girls in bikinis.
Trip to Charlotte coming up first weekend in April.
A whole lot of records incoming. Like 15 or so.
Comic Bento is really sweet. Definitely a lot better than I expected it to be. They have sent me some really good stuff.
http://comicbento.com/I think that's about it. Now off to the spite thread!

Going to jam with some guys tomorrow night in advance of maybe sitting in on a couple of songs at a show on saturday. Haven't played with anyone in way too long so that should be good.

I'm over the whole white-guilt thing, but its still very true that their people were super fucked over by "Manifest Destiny."
Having my partly Native friend share his family tobacco with me recently was super cool. It was good tobacco (and not from an area known for growing tobacco, definitely better than American Spirit), and it's really cool to learn more about that sort of culture that is hardly extant despite living on this land my entire life (he was talking recently about making a Kinnikinnick).
It's a real fucking shame how shitty of a deal Native peoples have been dealt in our contemporary society. I could go on about high levels of alcoholism and low levels of education they experience, but this is the happy thread. However, like I said, Native North Americans got fucked over really hard historically.
some of laura's beautiful boxes and things remind me of native north american textile designs.

https://www.facebook.com/laurabennettar ... 11/?type=1re 'white guilt', being british (anarchist and anti-royalist, but born here, so british by default) i will always struggle with the evil perpetrated by my country during its imperial past. an imperial past which (depressingly) most of the flag-waving 'little englanders' here look back upon as the country's golden era.
i do struggle to put that into a perspective where i can feel generally positive about a great deal of my country's past. and that's partly why, also partly by nature and character, i'm always drawn to support the rights of any indigenous minority against the pressures of a colonising culture.
ah.... juicy fruit.

7.5 minutes at 375 degrees. I've figured out the perfect formula for cooking these soft pretzels, and I still have like 25 in the freezer.

Snow storm. Public transportation is down, roads are blocked. No classes at uni for me today. Just sweet, sweet fuzzluvin'!
In other news, me and Eivind August are getting a place to fuzz out together!

We're sharing with two other bands. We get it for two days a week from 5pm to 10am. 100 square feet. The place has security cameras so we don't have to worry about leaving stuff there...oh, and free internet! Good times will be had.

Getting more and more psyched for it!

UC kinda just told me out of the blue that he'd found a place. What a guy.

That's cool. Is this a spot to play with pedals and jam or is this a "band" band area?
Speaking of ILF-cohabitation, new project in the works is moving forward. AM Excite.

That's how I roll. Random, I guess. But I think it was a better alternative than our seldom and spread out encounters.
The plan is to make Eivind August's project, IRerror, suitable for live performances. I'll be grabbing my VI and perhaps my Volca's and he the guitar while we look for a drummer boy. But we will probably fuzz out without there being any reasoning behind it too.
Who are you working with, D.o.S.?

This is a split with resincum. There should be more ILF-collabs in the future: at least, that's the hope.

Glad you guys are making this happen. Rad place.
But don't spend all your time playing with each other knobs. I mean... Pedals.
