I lived in Phish's ground zero for a while. I know exactly what you mean. To a T.

No, Jerry was awesome, but thankful they have now replaced him with john mayer so you can now die happy. [awaits Case to bust in saying john mayer is the best guitarist on the earth…] ;)

I've always wanted to hear Touch of Grey covered by a band with actual pop sensibility. It's a great song, but a band like The Dead turn what should be simple into a bumbling mess.

Sit down with a mellow six pack or a light bowl, put some headphones on and listen to this album. That's the best argument I can make for my fandom.

I don't mind slappity slappity stuff too much with primus. I feel like what les does just have more finesse.

I've never listened to the grateful dead. I'm sure thats some sort of blasphemy since I live in the bay area.

That is just sad. There are so many good guitarist/vocalists they could of had to fill Jerrys shoes. Why that fucking wanker?

Oh Christ.
I only made it a minute in.
I cannot stand that wanker.
That is a crime against music.

Random Penny Rimbaud sighting in an article about fitness...was looking for the part about 4 packs a day, teaching DIY seminars, and refusing to wear clothes as an alternative method to better health, but Vice didn't come through...

haha, Vice...if my friend didn't write for you every now and then, I would ignore ya

Saw that from the Oxbow folks. Band rules, Eugene is a great dude, and since the story is 98% him and John Doran (who is a good writer and, as such, only contributes to Vice occasionally) it's pretty much safe from being 2EDGY4U.

Oh yea, the article was fine...just funny that Penny popped up in a fitness article somehow haha. Dude is getting himself out there. Just keep seeing Penny in weird places (like random photos in Orange County Register...)

Yea, their better writers seem to have some kind of integrity and don't publish SEO cash grabs like "I catfished on Tinder, LOL...here is the Pizza I got" or "20 reason my writing need eiditers". Vice UK has some ok stuff every once in a while too.

My friend that writes for them once or twice a year (I think I messaged (as I complain about lack of editing haha) you about him and Sakevi) said that they sometimes edit the writing to add in more SEO and hipster speak. The tag lines are always horrible. He said one time he got back an article about something something anarchist...and they turned it into some kind of "bro" speak (I think that was the word he used...which is weird for a guy from UK)...changed a ton of his words...but yea...I guess they are selling.
