HOLY FUCK YES.
I thought it was over.
I thought they had a big falling out.
I thought we were stuck with Fang Island (who I liked for a while and then got sick of).

Time to go blast some albums.
Maybe heresy, but Canada Songs is my least favorite. The s/t though... It had some much needed bottom end and just enough "pop" structure. Big fuckin influences to my writing.

In short, I just came.

 yeah, god forbid. Nick Sadler left Fang Island a while ago anyway.

same here. I like their 7" EP best but they're basically a different band between that and the self titled.

New kitchen! Yea, you know what I am going through! Building mine now...cept it is all custom (and I have to work alone).

Encaustic concrete floors, Sapele cabs, copper counter tops, stone fish scale wall/backsplash tiles, cast iron and o.g. copper light fixtures, fireclay farmhouse sink, and some woven copper cab insets. Going to make the most of my small kitchen. And I will finally have a dishwasher for the first time!

Going to build my mircrowave into the lowers too. Can't stand to have stuff on the counters.

Ikea makes some nice sinks, they just can't be used do to California codes (unless you do some creative stuff...they don't have a place for an airgap).

That sounds awesome! If only I was handy. Our kitchen is a mess from the 70's, so any update will please me, seeing as I spend at least 2-3 hours in the kitchen every single day. My girlfriend only likes black and white, so that's what we're going with. At least I talked her into having a grey contrast wall, both in the kitchen and in the living room. Illusion of depth/space. Gotta love that.

I know it's kind of old news now but I always really dug the penny tile look for floors or walls in kitchens.

thanks g! congrats to u as well! 2.5 weeks left and (trying not to) count(ing) (for my own sanity).
i don't think i've talked about this w/ anyone besides kbi (who coincidentally is about to embark on his own journey, super proud of u dude). but this is the culmination of a long 5 years for me. going to throw it all up in the air and see where the pieces fall. fuck a cubicle. i want to live/make a life that I can be proud of today, tomorrow, when I am old and wrinkly.

YAY EVERYONE QUITTING!
I'm at 17 work days.
Then a 2 month vacation.
Then Europe cuz fuck it, if I can make money in USD I'd only have to work like 3 hours a day.

Yea, ours was from 1973 (but the house is from 1929, so I am trying to go with stuff from that era). The counters were white acrylic that stained like crazy and wew so unlevel that water from the sink pooled on one side of the kitchen. Somebody had cut the bottoms out of the cabs so that they could lay floor inside the cabs and there was no dust guard between the floor and cab...just the same surface. I also repiped the water/drains/gas, reran all the electrical, moved to the fridge 3 feet over into the utility room, moved a wall/added a beam for the fridge, and moved the water heater to a new 8 square foot room outside (I refused to have one of those cheesy metal cases outside). I saved the original decorative plaster in the nook though. We should start a home improvement thread, unless there is already one. Paging Chank. I should have double the counter space and double cab space now.

Black white and grey always looks nice. It's awesome that you got the grey wall. I think that will make the room. Our whole house is kinda in that LA spanish colonial style and I redid most of the floors in saltillo tile, so I had to kinda stick with that theme.

I always thought that was cool too. I got giant copper sheets that I am going to let petina a bit (maybe) before I epoxy them for the counter tops. I am also adding in some butcher block segments.

I forgot about the copper hood vent too.

And too all those quitting. Congrats, best choice my wife ever talked me into. I honestly make more under the table working when I want anyway.
