Nobody ever wants to backline equipment. Nobody rushes to pack up because they don't want to risk damaging their gear. There is never enough room to have a loading and unloading spot, so you can only move one band at a time. But it is always the drummer who takes the longest. Even small kits take forever to get into position and then mic. Plus monitor adjustments after.

There's just no winning.

lol. MAN. i would pee myself, and everybody i was around for the next 10 days, in utter HAPPINESS if i "had" to share backlines with Lightning Bolt.

i mean. if i got use THEIR stuff. i don't think he'd like my rig, and i don't know if there'd be much of it left afterwards.

hah. there's a band with an AWESOME bass player we've played with a few times. they've used our drums and my rig (they're a 3 piece, bass, drums, keys), and each time the other bassy guy has said something along the lines of, "thanks a lot! um. is there a way to get it to not be dirty at all?". no sir. no there is NOT.

ugh. played with an ASShat one time that he borrowed my stuff, never offered to help me move it afterwards, then back-handedly talked shit about my setup because it "doesn't really get to that Ampeg tone. you know...... make the bass sound like a REAL bass?".

doucher.

Should have said it wouldn't help him sound like a REAL bassist.
Boom. Roasted.

F'real though, I don't understand why people badmouth someone else's gear when they have to use it for a show. They could have put up or shut up. And if it sounds like shit to them maybe they should be better at adjusting.

I get angsty about gig etiquette. Seen too many assholes and every mistake in the book.

BRAIN Y U NO FALL ASLEEP??????? going on 30 hours now....

I'm usually pretty good at tearing down fast as fuck. My cab has wheels though, so I just roll that shit all over like a hoverround. unplug everything, pedals and cables in bag/board on top of amp/cab if applicable roll out the back. none of my guitars have cases and my board never gets bigger than 5 pedals at a time though so :idk:

Why can't all bands do that? Why can't that be the new standard?

They haven't done that in ages. Chanky, you've officially become that old bro.

Yeah, well, that was never in doubt. It's been quite a few years since I last attended a Lightning Bolt concert.

I just started a ten hour shift,
I left all of my food at home,
and the vending machines don't take five dollar bills.

This shit sucks.

(my punk lyrics, don't steal 'em plz)

Mope time:

I got up at seven after working until 1:30. I'm really fucking tired-o!
I want a backrub.
I want a clean kitchen but I have no intention of cleaning it.
I want time to pass more slowly. I almost have a feeling of vertigo. It seems that everything is happening so fast. New Years could have been yesterday and we're almost half through 2013. Whenever something exciting happens it feels detached, as if from a parallel universe, or timeline or as if I turned into someone else. I have a mundane persona and one for the cool shit. I mean, I played an awesome show some months back, I had and lost a girlfriend, there was a weekend in Hamburg that felt like a week of holidays, whatever, man. But it seems all these good things happened to someone else and then there is miserable me, trapped in a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly routine with no changes ever.
The weather being in constant November doesn't help.

Good news: tomorrow is some christian holiday that I forgot about and I have the day off. I shall have drinks and play my guitar a lot tomorrow.

I've dealt with an insane ex for the past six months.
I left her house and dogs, paid some bills while she adjusted, spent money on trying to fix it so her name got on phone and broadband contracts.
Not to say I didn't fight back when arguing, but still, she blackmailed me, threatened to not pay bills, then didn't and cost me a credit remark for UK. Not to mention saying pretty mean stuff, but that kind of goes with the whole breakup thing, saying mean things and doing some nice blames and fingerpointing is kind of nice compared to the shit she did. At least it has a purpose in a breakup scheme.

So fixing the names on the contracts cost a bit of money, but I wanted my name off so so bad.
And now, six months after breaking up, I still haven't gotten any more money back that what I've spent on overdraft charges and international calls. It's not like it's a big amount that I want for now anyway, like five hundred of your american rubles. She could borrow it from someone who didn't mind her owing them, that makes sense, right?
And to top it off, apparently arranging the process of changing ownership on those contracts so neatly a cat could do it isn't enough for her to be able to do it.

I swear I'm so so close to making it a public spectacle.
Enough rant, got another infuriating email, feels like my eyes are going to pop.
