Picked the Chessie up today on my lunch break, OMFG I can't wait to get back home to it. Plugged it in for 20min or so and it was glorious. Setup and build quality are both top notch, perfect in every way. Weight is fantastic too, feels around 8lbs to me. Gonna need some bigger strings though, all in due time.

That brushed finish is ace Schnikes. I really dig how it's not all shiny like most of the necks, I think it all fits together really, really well

Thanks Evan! Yeah, my goal was to avoid the shiny chrome look but not leave any doubt that it's crafted from aluminum, head to toe. :thumb:

Yeah, that would annoy me for sure.

Kevin was already charging me the standard anodizing fee so I asked if he had a problem making the guard and control plate aluminum as well. He did it no problemo. Come to think of it, regardless of all the little custom touches I asked for, all he charged me for was anodizing. And I had to wait a little while of course. Good guy though, called me personally when it was ready to roll just to discuss some details and shoot the shit, no complaints beyond the wait which was worth it in the end. Well worth it.

Smartest looking EGC I've seen thus far. Absolutely stunning.

Wow, I love the little details. Leaving the edges of the fretboard, control plate and guard non-anodized was a great idea. Gorgeous!
