I've been having depression lately because I tried to marry 2 whore back to back and well no surprise how that turned out. (Ive always been aginst marrige, these girls convinced me otherwise) Flash forward a year later still mentally struggling and coping and I had a vicious mental breakdown last week. I have never lost memory in my life. I mean If we all dropped acid together back in my wild years I was the guy you would ask wtf happened. I have always retained my memory of everything. I was almost forced to the er on mutiple occasions cause people thought i was stroking out. Well last week I lost my short term memory for 4 days. If you talked to me i would forget it even happend ten minutes later. I'm still trying to figure out some of the details of my life last week work /school wise. My merecedez Benz is fucked up on the side, fuck if I know how. Well anyways I am better now, and somewhat was starting to break out of my depression and low and behold said whores call me yesterday to drop fucking crazy news on me. Crazy bomb news. And I know they are all happy fucking multiple people tonight while i sit alone in our old house with our cats. If I had superpowers, today would be the moment I crossed over to the villain side. Fuckkkkkk. That's my mild irritation.

I hate the complete lack of any kind of any realistic fiscal support system for creative works in the US.

what would "realistic fiscal support" entail? and where do you see it coming from? i'm not trying to start an argument; i'm just curious.

Sure. Realistic fiscal support would entail a living wage. That's the easy one.

As to where it comes from--the issue is systemic. Not trying to rehash the entire "don't cut the arts programs" bit, but what's lacking in the public's consciousness is any sort of notion of future reimbursement or funding from the people who enjoy the product to the people who create the product. It's more complex than the idea that people are wary of paying for entertainment, because people all over the country buy HBO and Showtime subscriptions without batting an eyelash, but the absence of any sort of codifying metric of worth that can be used to describe those of us that work outside of the biggest leagues of whatever groove you're into (Hollywood, for instance, or the majors back when the record industry was actually industrious) is fucking frustrating.

We're lucky in Sweden in that we have a people and a government that values the arts. My band is not, and never will be huge but we get all sorts of support via Studiefrämjandet (an organisation) in terms of monetary help, courses in leadership, songwriting, you name it, gigs etc. that's awesome, and shows at least that the arts are valued, but even here I think the step from happy amateur to struggling pro is still very difficult financially. Still, it helps explain why Sweden is the third largest exporter of music after the US and the UK.

There are really two factors at play, one being taking the societal value of the arts seriously, the other being implementing a system to finance it.

one intersting (if nothing else) idea is the basic income guarantee.

Probably heaps of other ways of doing things.

It's cool that there's a lot of support for the arts there, a lot of our similar programmes are being cut right now, yay...

It's so goddamn hot here I'm not wearing clothes inside, and I'm still sweaty. Ughhhhhh

Not sure if this is where this belongs, but I'll say it anyway. I feel so fucking selfish in my life right now. My life is good and it's my birthday. My sister is sick and maybe dying and one of my wives friends brother (and his entire family including 3 children) where killed in a car accident yesterday. So I'm sat here feeling sorry for myself because things weren't going the way I wanted because I'm tired, I'm on steroids because of fucked up allergies, and I had to work on my birthday. Then I reflect and think "who the fuck am I to feel sorry for myself?" There are so many other people actually suffering out there. Losing loved ones, not being able to make ends meet or just have a hopelessness in their life. I have everything. I'm so blessed. I wish could help those who are hurting.

USPS delivered my parcel to the post office on June 27th. They have made no attempts to deliver it. What gives?

I'm not sure if it's my local post office or not. We don't have USPS offices here.
