OK, so, apparently, axe throwing is a thing around here.

^^ Around here too. One of my daughters friends dads asked me if I wanted to burn one and throw some knives when I dropped her off the other day. Obviously I said of course. Didn't get a chance to bust out the axe but he had a few. Big ass tree stump of a target. Should have snapped a pic as it was pretty funny.

I guess it's a national trend then? I'll stick with darts. I'm not opposed to throwing other things, but I've got no real desire to do so either.

I have no beef with knife/axe/whatever throwing, but whenever I hear about it I have to think of a neighbour I once had who had tried several times and failed to get into army and was obsessed with getting in. He would throw knives for hours in the back yard.

I rag on my neighbours for being from below the Mason-Dixon and thus "rednecks." They assure me they're not. It's a friendly banter that goes back and forth.

One day, I'm taking a nap and I hear them doing something that sounds like they're beating a rug. Since it's two guys who I'm pretty sure have never done that level of house cleaning in their lives, I looked and found them throwing knives at a target in the middle of the yard.

Keep in mind, I live in a townhouse where each neighbour has about 15' of yard to enjoy.

They got mocked for redneckery that day. They've invited me over to toss knives a few times, now. Last week it was BB guns off their back porch. -shrug- Just some good ole boys, I guess.
