Eivind August wrote:Offshot of environmental ethics. A lot of discussing whether whatever value nature may have is instrumental or inherent, whether the kartesian focus on dead matter is correct, relational existence of humans through metabolism, ecology, Darwin etc. Very interesting stuff, check out the writings of people like Holmes Rolston and Callicott if you're interested.

Nah, I'm writing on the philosophy of art, namely how noise music can be art.

Both sound equally awesome. Will have a look at the names you suggested. Also, in case you're writing in norweigan (or english), send me the finished thesis when it's done. I reckon I'd be able to at least make out some of it, although I'm usually rubbish at all the "neighbouring" languages, despite thinking of myself as pretty decent at languages otherwise.

Philosophy and art sounds amazing. I was an art history minor in college, once upon a decade ago, but mostly focused on post-modernism and the philosophical underpinnings of contemporary art. I love talking those things through, and I wrote one of my major papers on the connection of older art world avante garde music contemporary metal.

That sounds cool, feel free to PM me your papers if you want. Did you by any chance read philosophers like Thierry de Duve or Danto?

I have to say, the last week has been a rollercoaster of emotion, but so many good ones. The GoFundMe to help pay for my car repairs. My first date since the breakup. Deep conversations about dreams and tarot with a sweet woman I met online. Feeling like a person. Feeling like a valid, desirable, worthwhile man again. Knowing that I can dig out of this and that I'm not going to end up alone.

I wanna tell you that from reading your posts over the years it seems like you've grown a lot. your posts are more concise and clear, and your emotional awareness (from the very limited information I have) also seems to be a lot better/more healthy. i'm happy for you
