Well, my kid is out of the residential program at the eating disorders center after gaining 30 pounds. 8 more weeks of treatment...but glad he's home.
Now to lose the 25 pounds of sympathy weight I gained while he was there...

My dad is a banjo player, but hasn't played in a long time. This weekend, he bought a little Washburn travel guitar and he's been sitting in the living room, relearning chords every evening.
That makes me happy.

I built a motherfucking crate. One of 'em fancy crates for sitting, because our veranda is too small to have actual furniture. Probably not a big deal, but since I tend to avoid doing manual labour it is always rewarding whenever I manage to build useful shit.
Also, congrats D.o.S!

I recently found out my rent wasn't going up next year and I almost cried. That's like the first time in 5 or 6 years (basically since I've started paying rent) that this hasn't happened.

i meant to post here when i moved a couple of weeks ago cos my rent is now 40% less, with near unlimited internets, no more abusive flatmates, and there's a dog and chickens and a vegetable garden.
