I recommend taking notes while you read that series. Every book introduces like a million new characters. A lot of it takes place in different time periods/countries/etc.

That being said, I love those books.

I am reading China Meiville's The City and the City. I started it a while back and then put it down. It is still not grabbing me, but not bad enough to put down. Meh.

Really? I totally loved it. Do you know what you don't like about it or is it just general?

Got this in the mail not long ago. The long awaited 3rd edition of The Art of Electronics:

Expensive isn't it?! I got a copy that says "not to be sold outside East Asia" or similar. It was half the price as the next cheapest I'd seen. A friend told me it's something to do with India having educational books susbsidised by the government (or something like that).

I read Umbrella, then read the second in the trilogy - Shark, which I preferred to Umbrella. If you like Will Self's other stuff you'll like Shark and don't need to read Umbrella. They're separate stories. Not that Umbrella isn't good. I just preferred the characters in Shark.

I'm 20 pages from finishing Pilgermann, which will be my third Russell Hoban read. A bit theology. A bit of history. A bit philosphy.

I'll probably get Kleinzeit by the same author next.

Super short. Naked Scientology is a couple articles and letters about Burroughs' experience in Scientology in '68. He criticizes it pretty harshly, which is expected. Ali's Smile is a short fiction inspired by his experiences. It was interesting, but It's probably not worth the effort and expense of tracking down. I just had to satisfy my curiosity since it was mentioned in The Job, which is a much better collection.

Beautiful You - Chuck Palahniuk
Not his best work but an improvement over his last few.

I waited so long to read that because I found mainstream super heroes to be fairly disappointing since I was like 13. I was dumb. Instantly one of my favourite books. Showed me that comics could be just as heavy as any other piece of literature. It's 30 years old and still ahead of the game.
