I was unsure whether you were alluding to my actual dad and my upbringing.
Oh, sorry, no, have no knowledge about your upbringing, just doing the generic dad thing, which I find hilarious (ymmv).

I guess negative attitudes is my trigger, and we all learnt something today.

One year was San Fran - LA -Vegas -Grand Canyon -back up to Reno and Portola County in CA, cause my mother's guy got a friend there. The other time we flew to NYC went down to DC then to Chicago down through the middle of the country, catching Yellowstone on the way, to Salt Lake, then to Reno/Portola once again then up to Portland before flying home from Seattle.
Sorry for the somewhat short reply, I'm about to go out.

I've been thinking about trying to build a guitar. I priced parts for building a Jag-stang clone on Warmoth's website, and the total was almost $800, unfinished.

Pros:
  • I could build a guitar to my own specs.
I know where I can get help, if I need it.
The total price is kind of expensive, but I can buy it in parts, over time.
Cons:
  • I've never built a guitar before.
I have constraints on my time and budget.
What to do, what to do . . .

I wish that all the decent looking clothing wasn't always like two or three times the price of the kind that I and everyone else can actually justify buying.

It's cold here and I need a new jacket. :(

I built maybe 20 or so guitars from parts when I was going OCD with that stuff. Doing all the finishing and assembly. It is a ton of fun but also crazy tedious, especially the finish aspect. Easy 40 or so hours on the finish alone. If you don't plan to sell it or anything. Get the wood first. By the time you are halfway through you'll have had enough time to snag the other parts.

Thanks for the advice, dude! :thumb: That's kind of what I was thinking, that way I can space buying everything else out over a few months. I'm open to any other advice, too.

While half awake, and fully hung over, this morning I decided that "What if our heads were eggs?" was a fantastic stand-up comedy premise. Like the whole bit went on to say that people's heads would incubate and eventually a moderately sized chicken would bust out of your skull and that's how everyone died.

term egg head supposedly was coined on how SS obersturmbannführer would laugh as the heads of prisoners where cracked open on the sidewalks for fun "their heads crack like eggs" .......just sayin, no one seems to know that, soooo the joke should/will remain comical...

Like every time someone dies, you're just like "Oh yeah, he hatched" and it's just a thing. And there's just a chicken around, but the chicken doesn't know what's going on.
