I wear my instruments high as shit. Like Tom Morello high. I'm 6'3" And have really long arms so if I try to "Korn" it up my wrists hurt like shit.

I wear them pretty low, I have it where the strings are in the same place as my picking hand is with my arm hanging naturally so there as little elbow bending as possible. This also why I prefer playing basses with "guitar shaped" bodies vs basses with horns, I have long arms and it brings the the neck away from you vs closer so less joint bending..

Yes, I like letting my picking hand hang low, but it's just a matter of figuring out angles for fretting that don't feel like they're going to give me carpy toonello.
