I kinda have a thing for this look actually. I don't think it's that dorky, and don't cringe at that like I do whenever I see someone with a guitar (not a bass, that's usually more understandable) at their knees. You can reach some wild chords with it all that high.
I play a 24" too for the wrist cramps etc, and have always assumed my wrist was just bad because I broke it and it didn't get reset, so it doesn't bend properly, it's kind of relieving to see other people have the same issue.

I started playing high when I was in a couple tech-death bands in like 2003, and same thing. The wrists pulling that J.. they weren't having it.

Actually I just checked for the purposes of this thread and I'm not nearly as high placement as I'm presenting myself to be. Def above the dick, above the belt buckle (I wear my pants at the waist). The top of my strat shaped body hits my sternum, lower pecs. Even on my 9 string so whoops...not that high.

i have it so that the waist on my mustang sits under where a tiddy would go. that's as short as the couch strap goes.
