People liking The Big Bang Theory confuses me enough, but people being shocked that I don't "because [I'm] a scientist, it should be right up [my] alley!" kind of pisses me off.

I had the day off today, and all kinds of plans to be productive. Instead, I slept. And slept. And slept some more. Sinus shit and evil midwestern winter be damned.

Let the right one in (the OG) came out in 2008. It's really good.
Also, I'm going to have a bitch of a February. Taking the month off from drinking to save some money, so naturally I'm going to be hanging out at and around bars for like half of the month.

Shitty day at work has left me feeling shitty and drained of all enthusiasm I might have once had for anything.

the landlord at the new place turns off the heat when she goes to bed...I woke up freezing at 5:00 AM and will have to get space heaters to make up for it. it's like being in Pocatello all over again

You mean, aside from the fact that you've got gainful employment and civilization around you?

That's kind of a dickmove on her part! I sleep in lots of clothes cos my flat is super cold unless the heating is cranked 24/7, which isn't exactly cheap.

Landlord update:
After a firm talking to and much ranting on their side, we've been cleared to stay in the place. They were not keen on having an "unreported animal" in the house and tried really hard to find evidence of damage it may have done...They couldn't find anything concrete, but are trying to pass off some floor scratches as new damage to the house. Dunno if they had been there previously or not
May or may not get our deposit back when we move out, but at least we aren't getting kicked out now. Things could be much worse.

That's good news, osbornkt, but also shitty at the same time.
Doesn't sound like a landlord I'd want as my very own. I'd move out as soon as my lease is up.

That's the plan, Chank. The lack of heat, hot water, weather stripping that they seem to not want to fix also is a reason behind leaving soon as we can!
