I prefer my instruments standing in balance on their own, just in case there's no guitar stand available. I actually had my custom bass body re-drawn just because of this reason. The local luthier visioned it funkier that way but I strongly disagreed.

OK if a jazz bass does not count, and dubkitty said it doesn't so it doesn't: Right now I own none, but I am refinishing an old teisco in my garage, and that will bring me up to one, it is the one with the Handle/cutout, it was sunburst then blue burst and I am not sure what it will be next, although i feel like glitter is in order.

you can count your Jazz Bass if you want to; i just don't think it counts, so i didn't count mine...one doesn't generally think of a Jazz Bass when thinking of "offset guitars," though if you wanna get technical a Jazz Bass doeshave an offset waist and is a "guitar." but i'm not (oh God) the boss of you.
