lol, but devo gets away with things most other bands couldn't. Short shorts, knee pads and super long socks for example(though it was the 80's).
I saw the picture and thought, "lol, somebody probably thought it was too heavy." Then I read the description and that's exactly what it said.

my librarian/history-nerd side requires that i note that the photo is from when Devo were still playing small clubs on a low enough budget that their costumes were limited to t-shirts lettered at the mall shop and athletic shorts/socks, i.e. it was still the 70s. n.b. a time when the least "hip" images you could possibly adopt were of clean-cut athletes or studious nerds.
