whaaaat? are those chords? i'm very confuzzled.

no, those are intervals expressed in pitch notation. D0 is D just above low C on the piano, 18.354 Hz. middle C is C4; A440 is A4. and yes, i did have to look that up

Scalloped frets allow you to pitch bend differently and are generally easier on the hands as they require a lighter touch. Theoretically lets you play faster.

I got a Vietnamese style Guitar Phim Lom "flexible sound" off CL today... I love the alt tuning and the droning and the bends... So cool...

I can't tell if the action is fucking awful or if its an illusion cause of the scalloped frets

it's probably pretty high, because the instrument's tuned so low...that low D string is gonna wobble like a motherfucker. you can hear it clanking in both the videos the few times the player hits it. i assume this is a guitar adaptation of a indigenous instrument which probably has a gut low string the size of a tree trunk.

Yeah, I was gonna say with scalloped frets, you'd want a higher action and lighter strings to facilitate the bending.
