yeah but Daturas had the advantage of Bonnie being amazing and able to pull the most ridiculously thick sound out of pretty much anything you put in front of her.
that said, yep, go for it, just get a big thick fuzz.

I can tell you that Jag basses can certainly bring the heavy. I keep my Squier VM Jag Bass tuned CGCG and it is fucking beefy.

My CP Jag sounds pretty burly in the lead circuit with that strangle switch engaged. Lotta meat on those single coils.

Re: Can a jaguar bring on the heavy?
My Classic Player HH brings the heavy in spades, buckers are ludicrously hot and still sound decent if you just go for coil split; the blend option rocks as well.
If I wanted stupid thin I have a Mustang already, and the buckers on the CP Jags are flat out amazing.
And should I need heavier than that, I can always use the attached Roland GR pickup and double the guitar with a vguitar LP/high gain model (or drop tuning an octave), and should I need even more, well, there's two synth voices to play with too, and I still have the regular out to the wall of fuzz pedals.
