1998 MIM Strat, I added a switch that makes positions 1 and 5 on the five way switch neck and bridge, and 2-4 all three pickups.

'04 MIM Strat, 50th anniversary of the stratocaster edition. Gold as fuck. I'm kind of surprised that they didn't go for gold frets and a brass nut, actually.

Also, you all are way better at taking pictures than I am. I'm jealous.

Around 1990ish MIJ body in Shell Pink, although it's tinted and looks more salmon colored.
The neck is a pretty faithful '62 Fender reproduction from who knows where, and I love it.
Custom Warmoth guard with no knob in the "wack with hand" spot, one master volume, one master tone.
Set of Sonic Wrench pickups (awesome and affordable!).
Callaham trem block and medium length trem arm.
Graphteck saddles - steel with the special slippery stuff implanted where the strings hit.
Ilitch technology noise-cancelling backplate system - amazing piece of expensive technology!

Here's my '93 G&L Legacy
Accidentally put this in the main GUITARS thread instead of this one.
There's some seriously beautiful strats in this tread.

coool. I'm not usually into 'buckers in a Strat, but in that G&L's case I'll make an exception.

So, Strat lovers....

Can you really tell a difference between position 2 and 4?

On mine, they are drastically different. Have you found that they sound the same?

Huh, yeah. You're making me feel stupid now. I'm going to have to try some more strats.

Another thing I always wondered, why didn't more old school country dudes play strats? They got a pretty decent sound for it, plus you can kind of do the lapsteel thing with the trem. :idk:

No need to feel stupid. It probably has a lot to do with the amp and speaker as far as how different 2 and 4 are. As for the country question, it's likely the image associated with the Strat more than anything - the whole rock/blues wanker thing.
