Played one of the 50's P's last night. It was pretty cool, but the clearcoat on the neck was pretty sticky.
Also, I couldn't really plant my thumb, because of the uncovered pickup.

Hmmmm... I haven't seen a Mustang Bass with a maple neck myself.
There's the actual Fender one here:

Looks real cool. Made in Japan, which is a super-plus. I wonder if it would be worth it to do that instead of a big ass P-Bass... I must admit it's way more comfortable for me with my 30" Hofner. It would be neat to have the grind of the P-Bass with the scale of the Hofner.
