Highland cows are nice but they make me a bit sad remembering going to the Oakland zoo as a kid in 80s, the enclosures there were so small... They had a whopping 3 highland cows there, they seemed ok, but cows are able to put up with a lot.... I sometimes think it would be really cool to live in the snowy wastes with reindeer but I'd have to stop being a vegetarian more than likely...

Well... At least you'd have plenty of venison when you needed it. You could probably make really sweet coats out of highland cow fur in the summer when they could do with a haircut. In my upcoming Jeremiah Johnson remake, he's starting a highland cow farm to make boutique items of clothing to sell on etsy.

to make a long story short, i agree with olins statement. Reindeer are not a lot different than regular deer. Wild elk and moose are much more interesting, and elk especially would win a lot of points on olins scale because they are very aggressive. You would never want to try to 1. fight one in the wild 2. be in a situation that depended on you being able to run away from one to survive 3. see one that has babies, because again, refer to number 2 previously stated

Hmmm none of my elk experiences have been different than my day to day deer experiences, other than they are in herds, I remember going to a beach I think in Oregon were ther were elk hanging about on the lawn area by the parking lot, they seems pretty chill. :idk:

I’m thinking about it... I know enough people on this forum to make the trip worthwhile. Grouper volunteers at Lewis and Clark National Park too.

Hmmm...

I went on a adventure that took me through Oregon a few weeks ago... That transmition in my Nissan Quest died in Astoria and we had to be toed back to Washington by aaa.. Thankfully I got full coverage so it's being fix... The adventure was a good one as adventures go though... The one thing you notice is how much better breakfast spots are down there...
