That's really interesting, wonder what he is doing with the PT chip. I have a Noise Ensemble circuit on the breadboard as I am using it for this parallel fuzz I am working on. About 10 years ago I had a wicked vibrato circuit going from tweaking a noise ensemble so the idea was to incorporate that but can't remember what I did which has been super frustrating as it was adding one capacitor and a jumper I think. In trying to rediscover the vibrato I have been trying different things with that circuit and quite liked the distorted sound of it with the wet signal killed. Not useful for this thing but maybe something down the line.Dandolin wrote:interesting distinction by LaoWiz between the use of these parts for glitchy purposes as opposed to "amp-like" drive....
found a snaxy fuzz on reverb by a builder (Capitalist Death Cult?) who claims he's harnessed a PT2399 for distortion tones that outdo the 4049/4069 for straight drive tones.
i do enjoy the gained up tones i've heard from the Echo Degrader and from diy Noise Ensemble jawn.
I managed to breadboard the 22/7 and green ringer about 99% of the way last night. So tonight I just need to pop in transistors and see if it fires up. Instead of the 22/7 tone stack I stuck in the one from the Pharaoh as the switching in the 22/7 schematic was wigging me out. I'll report back if there's anything good to report!
